For anyone who doubted here is GI review for RDR
" "Those who tired of the errand boy mission structure of GTA 4 won't find any solace in Red Dead..." That perfectly sums up why I didn't enjoy the GTA 4 OC... *sadface* "That sums up why i don't like GTA. That accompanied with the fact that the missions tend to repeat themselves very often.
" @DystopiaX: I get where your coming from and dont worry it wont disappoint you my friend. and between you and me John Mastan would kick Nikos ass anyday :) "What about big American titties?
" @The_Laughing_Man: um..... ah..... shit u got me there aha "At least I got this to look forward to. The APB beta disappointed me to no end.
" I seriously do not get all the hype for this game of course I hated GTAIV so maybe I'm not the target audience, but still; I saw a trailer on the multiplayer and it honestly looked a lot like lead and gold "Look here
This game is far better then Lead and gold. Much much more content.
" @AlwaysAngry said:because it demonstrates a reviewer bias. Jeff is into fighting games, SSFIV gets 5 stars. Ryan very consistently thinks games are very good. Brad is a Ps3 fan, 5 stars to exclusives, everything else is meh." I trust Gamespot's and GI's reviews the most. Honestly, you know what the GB crew is going to give a game. Jeff gave SSFIV 5 stars? SHOCKER! Ryan gave almost every game he reviews 4 stars? WOW, REALLY? Brad is going to give a PS3 exclusive 5 stars? Mind = blown. Then there are the games like Dead to Rights where you know it's just going to be a meh game and it'll get 3 stars or less. "annnnd how is this a problem? "
Although I don't trust gamespot reviews. All the blockbusters will get a minimum of 9.0 so that the games can put "gamespot editor's choice" on the boxes. Every other good game will get an 8.5 unless it's exceptional (sleeper), and everything else will get something in the 7 range, or 6 if it's really bad.
" @Laketown: you may wanna watch the single player videos if you go to gametrailers.com they have a whole series. start with introduction and move ur way up. they are really good and let me know what ya think "*MAGIC*
" @DystopiaX: everytime you let review scores bug you, YOU ARE LETTING THEM WIN! "
ughhhh..fine. I hate all the editors that have remained at gamespot. They are now all either bad at games (without the sexy Brad voice), douches, cocky douches who are bad at games (see halo Reach beta playing), or just dumb. Since none of them appears to be the kind of people who I would trust to review a game well/have the integrity to refuse review bribes, I don't trust them.
Also, their scoring system sucks.
If it´s anywhere near as good as GTA IV was (of course, the open world genre has evolved since 2008) it has to be one of the best games of the year in my book.
I loved GTA IV, I still do. And no, not just because of the story, I liked every part of that game.
Stop talking it down, it may not have satisfied your over-hyped expectations, but it was one of the greatest games of 2008 (some might say the best). Yeah, comparing RDR to GTA IV isn´t really fair, since RDR was developed by different people, but if you don´t see the potential this game has, you have no clue.
