Only one episode left? Damn... maybe they'll make some special episodes for the blu-ray, because I don't think they'll fit in the true ending stuff- Oh well, if they do end with them finding... the true killer, I'll be happy enough with that. I can't wait for the localized versions to come out, ha.

Two episodes left, you mean. There are twenty-five in total. This most recent one was #23.

My money's on them either making the last episode an hour long, or them being real sneaky and having an extra episode hidden away for the true ending.
I was thinking this. Perhaps an OVA later on. If it's made with money from Blu-Ray sales it'll look awesome. Still they could fit everything in in two regular episodes, I think.
Oh man, this was a good adaptation. Again, it's the little touches which made it. For example, Adachi saying he wanted to kill Namatame himself, actually seeing Shadow Saki for the briefest of moments, the little moment with Yu and Yosuke and Yu entering the Meat Dimension. However, I was afraid they were actually going to kill Nanako off for good when she wasn't revived on the day she is in the game. That would have sucked.
The scene with the decision on Nametame was really well done. The darkness of it, the music and actually having Yu be a character made an already dark and tense scene even more dark and tense. Man, Naoto needs to be called out on her role here though. She's supposed to be the most level-headed of the group and she's the one who suggests killing the dude.
Can't wait for the reveal next week. Bitches is all I will say.

She basically does in the game as well.
Remember Naoto wants to appear like an adult and that she's always calm and collected. Well, I think we have seen enough of her to know that she can't keep a cool head all the time -cough shadow cough-.
Yu, as well, is supposed to be the level-headed one, but he almost pushes him in.

Really, the biggest change between the events of the game and anime is Yu's decision to grab Namatame and nearly force him in, but at the same time, the way it was handled works perfectly for the way they've established his character.
@SilvarusLupus: I know and I felt the same way about her actions in the game too. I guess you're right about her Shadow though. Yu's reaction is more understandable being closer to Nanako than the rest. Actually, it's weirder that in the game he remains so calm. The downside of having a silent protagonist I suppose.
I remember, at the beginning of the series, a bunch of people said that this is gonna be a clusterfuck. Nothing stands further from the truth. This is an excellent anime and I hope they gonna end it with a quality as the rest of episodes has been made.
@Cloudenvy: He's good in the Daily Lives of High School Boys too. He's Motoharu in it.
Whelp, someone's Shadow is a troll.
And.
Matsuda is Kira.
GAH! No don't end there!
My idea that we are going to have a 26th episode just skyrocketed.
This was on animenetwork's episode listings. Now it could just be an error, but I already know how much the anime has already trolled us.
Also. Yay Naoto did figure out who the killer was without Yu's help!
This episode was pretty great. I was worried that Adachi wasn't going to fuck with the main cast like he did in the game. Well I was dead wrong.
The fight(s) next episode will be interesting.
Bitch count: 3

Hm. If there is no 26th episode, then they won't be following the True Ending path. I always thought I would prefer the story without the whole Ameno-Sagiri and Izanami stuff.
Loved this episode. Reminds me that Adachi was probably my favorite character in Persona 4.
Always leave room for that post series OVA!

Or they could just be planning a different ending than what either the Normal or True endings of the game depicted. In any case, I would be utterly shocked if Izanami doesn't make an appearance at some point.
I don't think they're going for an OVA. I could see them pulling a surprise Episode 26, however. It would fit with the nature of the game's true ending being hidden.
If they don't include Izanami in there somehow I'd be surprised. They made sure to put her in the background quite a few times with funny little smirks. Just like they showed the delivery truck and Adachi tipoffs. There is a lot of time between the Adachi ending and the true ending, I hope I'm not right in thinking all that time would just be a huge scrolling time skip like in the game.
Shit ju...uh...shit continues to be real. I'd probably declare this one of my favorite episodes, but I've the odd feeling that I say that too much.
They have to leave room for the final final battle and then the "epilogue." I sure hope they'd be going to 26. There's no way they'll be doing anything less at this point.
And hopefully next episode can rectify my peeve that none of the fights are really all that stellar (except maybe the Naoto one, where they took some extra time with it).
shit just real(er)
maybe there's a secret episode 26 that will appear after the next episode airs, anime series are usually 12/13 episodes or 24/26? 25 feels like a weird spot for a last episode. It's not like it's in a notminA time slot where their shows are only 11 or 22 episodes long
@NIveous:
Oddly enough, both. I've watched Durarara before, so when I first saw Adachi in the game, I reeled back in what-the-fuckness. I'm aware that there aren't a lot of voice actors in anime, but they sound exactly the same. Then I adjusted to it...and saw reality bend in on itself as Adachi inevitably became Izaya, only with Shadows instead of just being awesome.

Figures. Oh well. I'm sure there will be an overly literal fansub to console us while we wait for the US DVD release.
Hooooooly shiiiiit. I was totally gonna buy it anyway, but now I have to. Dammit anime!

No, I know it was in the game. I just wasn't expecting the anime to do it.
God damn it AIC. Well I'm already invested in the show and happy with how the show want, so I wont mind waiting for the last episode. Anyway, will be posting a review soon.
I feel like showing this episode to some of my teachers at the Christian school I used to go to.
I'm sure they'll love the end of the fight.
@AxleStukov: Haha, we watched this during class at a Christian college--I'm pretty sure we got some odd looks while encouraging Lucifer. Though, we're animation majors, so it's less of a big deal, and the professor had us watch this, so we probably weren't the worst blasphemers today either.
Chie droping god hand's like nobodies business.
the ending of the preview of the secret episode is interesting
Im not too bothered as I was always going to buy the blu ray but it is a shame they didnt air the true ending.
As for the final episode, I thought it was ok but I thought both bosses deserved their own episode. Adachi especially seemed like he deserved more of a battle. I almost cheered though when the music kicked back in against him, was an awesome moment.

so we have to buy the dvds/bd to see the true end? did the animation studio go over budget?
lol at summoning Lucifer to save the day
No. The true ending was likely always meant to be DVD only. When the show was announced, they stated that only twenty-five episodes would air.
But man, that confrontation with Adachi was intense, and handled quite a bit better than as it occurs in the game.
