Chunithm is pretty rad and there's some really cool stuff in it such as warps and even rewinds mid-song.

Maimai is the washing machine rhythm game also by Sega. That one is being tested over here in the west so there is potential it can appear in US arcades.

Fun fact from the land of game development: the 360's "This disc is unreadable" error is actually their generic catch-all for hard crashes. They don't want to tell the player that they hit a game breaking bug, so they blame the disc.

Sound Voltex is the best bemani game, therefore best rhythm game.

it's funny to hear Jeff talk about Arashi as "the next SMAP" considering how big they have been, and that they debuted in 1999.

Anyway the show he was talking about is VS Arashi, most episodes can be found online (or DL'd via torrent), and it is excellent. Fun game show.

For any newer users of this site who may have been confused about the lack of games played on this UPF, note that this is normal. Once about every 6 weeks or so, UPF turns into a randomfest. (See a previous episode with a slew of pepper-spray videos.)

All this XCOM 2 hate! So weird. Technical issues aside, that game was great at launch and has only gotten better with mods. It fixed all the problems I had with XCOM EU/EW. The only fault that could be leveled against it is that it is occasionally difficult to the point of unfairness, but never in a way that can't be anticipated. Well, that, and that there wasn't that much room for improvement to begin with.

Holy fuck guys, why is the cross-talking so bad this week? It's a fucking mess to hear just a load of people talking over each other constantly.

It's been a long road, which started out firmly in hater-town, but I'm now convinced that Matt Rorie is a god damn comic genius.

I remember watching that quick look years ago about the game based on the German cop show. The quick look was a classic but I don't remember which game it was.
