20XX is so good. Not the most challenging roguelike, but some of the most fun I've had with one.

February breaks came about for me I think when i was in high school...so going on about 12-13 years. Basically instead of giving 2 weeks for spring break around Easter, they split the break and gave us a week during February, and then the normal week in Spring.

Rorie's beard is not doing him any favours. It's like if someone smeared rusty pubes across his jaw.

Gotta trim that shit down son, keep it neat.

Rorie's "turn-based roguelike coming to Fig" made me laugh because roguelikes are turn-based.

bens giant spider hands freak me out, if he held them up to me like that I would possibly scoot back. I love the rest of you, Beautiful Big Ben, but your hands, they remind me of that typing robot guy from ghost in the shell. Also as a hat guy, rorie, I am hurt. Also also, That first game was somethun to behold while lilbaked

I think I'm officially too old for games like Star Fetchers. The writing annoyed me almost instantly, and the game just seems bad. There are a lot of text heavy indie games coming out lately and none of them have the writing chops to pull it off.

That trainer Rorie used on Sekiro looked really neat just to see all the great animations in slow motion. Also it’s tempting me to finally get Sekiro in PC and just run through it for funsies with that on since I already beat the game on Xbox.

I admire Ben for giving Rorie some really ill informed advice on Sekiro with a lot of confidence.

That seems to be a part of Ben's job description. For example, see any video he's playing Apex Legends in.

I thought dipping grilled cheese in ketchup was normal. Is it a regional thing? Someone tell me I'm not crazy for dipping grilled cheese in something made for stuff to be dipped in.

Who would dip a perfectly good grilled cheese in soup? I am biased though because I come from a family of soup haters.

People jokingly call hockey 'kendo' in Finland. That Kunio-kun hockey game finally proves that the two sports are related.

@humanity: A friend used it and I dicked around a bit.

Honestly? It definitely helps with giving you more time for the perilous moves but everything else just felt a lot harder. Sekiro is very much a rhythm game and most of the sequences are timed as such. Once you start adding delays it becomes a LOT harder to "feel" out an attack as it were.

Maybe if you play the whole game on the same speed it would work but I spent an hour or so trying to just time Genichiro at 80% whereas I can "naturally" start parrying his flurries after only two or three tries to calibrate at 100%.

@gundato: that doesn’t sound surprising seeing as From games have a history of having gameplay elements weirdly timed to the framerate pacing. Maybe it’s something to get used to as you said who knows I don’t actually own Sekiro on PC although I did try it at a friends place and it was a night and day difference playing at 60 FPS compared to even the XB1X. I was already so far in the game I didn’t really want to start over on PC so I thought maybe one day when it’s on sale and some DLC comes out. Thanks for the info though!

If that's how you've gotta get through Sekiro, by all means. If I got into Sekiro I'd probably take advantage of that too. I played all of Celeste at 80% speed and still struggled in some parts.

I'm getting older, slower. whocare. experience and enjoy the game however you can, whatever works best for you.

No need to roll your eyes Ben - Rorie will often give bad advice read straight from the chat which is often at odds with everything that is happening on the screen but contradictory information is just part of the tradition of GB live shows. I have not played the game since it came out either, it just seemed like using this very slow overhead strike against a really nimble enemy was a bad call, but hey Rorie made it in the end.

@humanity: Why do you care enough about whether Rorie beats a Sekiro boss on what is essentially a video podcast to make an unkind remark about one of the people on said podcast, who you presumably don't personally detest? I admit I used to get frustrated at people "playing badly" in videos, but let me share with you the epiphany that I had: you don't have to watch that part if you find it annoying, and you might even find that it isn't important enough to qualify as annoying to begin with.
