In regards to the Valve lawsuit, there's two things I can foresee happening almost IMMEDIATELY. Echoing what Jeff said, the Steam Market as we know it would no longer exist, and/or the economy would shift SIGNIFICANTLY. With everything being stupid expensive or stupid cheap.

Second, and a much more widely impacting result, steam sales as we know them will be gone. No longer will you see AAA games(that valve pays for) for $7. They would lose so much money(especially if people can then pay out to their bank accounts). Similarly, I bet we would see things like Humble Bundle change greatly.

I get it as a consumer rights thing, but for the community as a whole forcing Valve to do this is bad news for a lot of people. You're GOING to buy more games on Steam, so having that money in your wallet is sort of a moot point. As for reselling games, if you have games you don't want you've either got them for next to nothing(if not free) or likely got more than your money's worth.

Damn, one hour and a half? This has got to be the shortest bombcast in years.

edit: oh wow, the bombcast item on the previous page (with all the podcasts) displays one hour and thirty minutes, when it's actually two hours and forty minutes.

Free Video audio is pretty blown out, kinda rough to listen to for long periods

Hey @janman, the audio in the video versions sounds very blown out. A lot of crackling and spiking levels that makes it rough listening to. The audio only versions are totally fine though.

Did people just forget CoD used to be Battlefield? Call of Duty United Offensive had big maps and vehicles. Still the best Call of Duty in my opinion, with one of my favorite multiplayer levels ever: Foy.

As a consumer this sounds great and I hope the French government wins the lawsuit.

Audio is peaking bad on all the video versions. The audio only version is fine though.

Oh no, I got bummed out just a tiny bit when you guys talked about the slow down and stuttering in Link's Awakening. I'm still really looking forward to playing it when I get the time, but that was a little disappointing to hear. :(

No one in the room is a TLOU fan. Literally the only interesting thing they could have said, since none of them played much of the game or cared to remember it, is "hey its joel." Which they said. This is not the crew who are going to have much to say about new TLOU2 footage.

Also, whoever is doing the release doesn't know how to name/tag the file, it doesn't even have the episode number in it.

I saw "hey, it's Joel" more like a gentle reminder to maybe focus on TLOU2 instead of reading whatever was being read, since it's not often the crew interrupts one another so directly. Hell, he even said it again a minute or two later.

Doing the sony presser during the podcast did not work at all. Makes for terrible audio content, and the sound mixing meant it made for poor video content too.

Jeff knows how to corral a conversation if needs be. If he cared enough, he could have more firmly directed Ben back to the topic at hand. Besides, a live reaction to a video on a podcast that is meant to be audio-first is bad podcast content.

@geirr: Ben really had to remind people once again how much of an awful disaster FO76 is. Even though he has never played the game at all.

I'm on android so I guess my opinion is irrelevant, but making you actually pay attention to the game and listen to the audio they created doesn't bother me in the least. I guess those unwilling to do so should have the option not to, but if you want to give a game half of your attention, there are thousands of phone games out there for you.

Well cherry-picking what to "react to" on video on an audio-first podcast makes it all "bad content" then, doesn't it? And throwing in a "Hey it's Joel" won't make audio people any wiser.
Of course I only listen to the video version, maybe reacting to some of the Sony videos is cut from the audio version.

Im sitting here watching Battlefield ape CoD, then CoD go and ape Battlefield.

Small correction: Sony does allow games to override Spotify audio if they want, because Dark Souls Remastered does it and it's annoying. If I'm gonna bash my head against the wall trying to get past a certain section of level over and over I'd like to do it while listening to a podcast, but nah.

+1 to no more live reactions on the podcast. It's bad content. If a stream is that important, do a proper live reaction video and record the podcast before, after, or around it. It's not like they haven't taken breaks that were as long as that State of Play before.

Going to a news story during the biggest game of the stream lead to a weird listen, like that couldn’t wait 2 minutes? Ben just steamrolled through it

One of the most boring podcasts they’ve had, and ultimately I don’t know how much longer I can keep consuming the west coast content.

What on earth was the portion where they are commenting on a live streaming video? That was terrible.
