Wait, they switched. Dan is saying Frieza now and Jeff is saying Freetza. They literally Ginyu body changed. This is now a next level bit.

Two immediate notes it took less than 4 minutes for a (shockingly fitting) wrestling reference and Geoff has joined the Freetza Party, this show needs to be on AVClub’s best list marker it in guys.

It has to be trolling at this point. It absolutely has to. Jeff has now optioned to saying Freetza, and Dan has decided to say it correctly now.

I'm happy Kai cuts down on the filler, but it's a shame when it's integrated too neatly with the rest of the episodes. I could've done without Bulma being hunted by the dinosaurs from Earth who are on Namek for some reason, but they can't really take that out when they've integrated it into Gohan and Krilling getting the radar from her. Burter and Jeice doing a cool special attack? Good filler. Constantly cutting away to Bulma doing something completely dumb and irrelevant? Bad filler.

I just started playing Zelda last night, and it's a really great game. This Ganondorf dude is kinda like Vince McMahon, you see? And Link gathering these medallions to proceed is exactly like Ric Flair when he beat Triple H during the Big Huge Wrestling All-Star Tits & Ass World Cup. You following me??

It was trolling 5 episodes ago, and now it's absolutely amazing.

Less than 4 minutes? It starts at 24 seconds (14 seconds if you discount the 10 seconds of the intro music). The stuff about Goku pointing at a sign at the very start is an allusion to a"road to Wrestlemania" tradition.

Dan saying how much he enjoys the charging scenes with people being like “THIS CAN’T BE POSSIBLE!” makes me think he’d really love DBZ, but I’m still super happy they chose Kai. Very excited for them to get deeper in. Haven’t been this enthusiastic about GB content in a long time

Since Jeff likes how Goku looked with a scouter, I feel compelled to post Turles here.

"Several More Minutes."... Lol they don't know how time works in DBZ. Wait till they see 5 minutes... I think the original Frieza fight was like 4 and a half hours? I may have looked that up wrong but it was crazy haha. Much shorter here but "5 minutes" sure isn't five minutes XD

Bit bummed though, next set of episodes is one episode short of my favorite thing about Vegeta. That episode builds his character very well. Oh and then a few episodes later doesn't he show up in Goku's mind completely naked from the afterlife to give him a pep talk?

If they want the true viewing experience, they should have to stop now and start back at Raditz 5 times before moving on.

Hoping for ASG episode #10 they do 6 episodes, for reasons I won't explain on here.

People bitching about wrestling references is the new people bitching about Dan's pronunciation of Frieza. But it was also the old version of that. And it will be the future version of that. There's a certain beautiful hilarity to being just as exasperating as the thing you claim is exasperating.

I would love to listen to Dan and Jeff talk about the Father of Goku special, it's easily the most raw and just plain badass piece of DBZ content in my opinion.

I can tell jeff is gonna not enjoy the next batch that much. Its easily the most drawn out of the bunch so far. with people getting beat up by various forms of frieza waiting for goku

It was likely cut for Kai, but actually a scouter does fucking explode on someone's face very early in the series when Bulma scans Napa through a TV. I always thought they blew their wad pretty early on the 'exploding scouter' gimmick with fucking Napa

They turned Dan's inability to pronounce anything into a gimmick.

The whole mundo cool or anything like that doesn't even happen in the sub, there's no sign of krillin and gohan thinking it's cool and vegeta thinking to himself that it's cool, they're asking if Goku won't drown and such and Vegeta does think to himself but he's thinking about killing Gohan and Krillin instead.

So weird.
