Feels like the cars is on ice or something and everything is sped up. Also the game is 30$ not 20$.

@steveurkel: Here's the secret to success in Burnout 3 when you are not great at driving games: Use the walls like bumpers in bowling and have fun. I think Jeff nails it partway through the video when he says that it looks weird and off but also looks exactly like Burnout. I don't know if people today will be able to appreciate it, but this looks to handle exactly how I, as a major fan of Burnout 3, would want from a new Burnout game.

I dunno, I'll probably end up buying Dangerous Driving but all the QL really inspires in me is to hook up my PS2 or Xbox at the weekend and play Burnout 3. If the new game was already released I'd be doing the same thing. Has the popularity of arcade racers really fallen so far that they're only really appealing to the Kickstarter nostalgia crowd?

I appreciate the moment taken in here to mention and detail 'what Burnout 3 was' rather than just dan-style spending the entire video going 'it's just Burnout 3.' Like yeah, I get that, but what is that?

So I do appreciate that extra effort.

... not as much as I appreciate that playlist though damn.

@lase: Sahara Hot Nights - Hot Night Crash

From the Burnout 3 soundtrack, I don't know if that was intentional or not.

Something about this looks and feels cheap. Reminds me of those fan-made Unreal Engine demos for Mario 64 and OoT.

Does anyone know if the Spotify controls integration is also on the Xbox One version?

I'm surprised that they're liking it. It hurts my eyes to watch and looks just as bland and lifeless as their other games. They really need to hire a proper UI designer because those menus looks like they fell out of a PS2 game. The way things move and interact makes this look one step above an asset flip. Look mat how those cars fall down. And Spotify integration instead of making actual music of any kind is just... c'mon. I don't have spotify and I don't plan on getting it. I guess I get to listen to almost nothing at all if I wanted to play this game?

I really don't know where Three Fields are getting their money to continue making games from.

Edit; and the takedown abruptly cut away while the Tony Hawk special move sound dings, and the boost bar is just a jpeg that flattens as it's being used, and there's zero motion blur on the cars, and the walls are like pinball bumpers that fling you off, every level has a blanket of fog, the camera is too low...

As a burnout fan this looks great. The physics, UI, and design seem to be trying to emulate Burnout 3 as close as they could with their resources. If the game is >60 fps on PC ill probably buy it since Burnout games are all capped to 60.

This looks like one of those ripoff games you'd find on the Google Play store called Burning Takedown or something.

No doubt. I feel like Burnout 3 looked better. This might be on par with Burnout 2. Burnout Revenge still got the title!

There's not enough deformation on the cars. When you see the crashed cars it's pretty much 1. Wheel(s) fall off 2. Hood and trunk come unlatched and 3. Body panels swapped to a scraped and dented texture. It's really not much of a stretch from what the licensed cars in NFS Payback look like during takedowns. I understand that it's a game developed and released with a much lower budget, but the cars that have initiated a "crash" don't look any different than your car's damage from just driving. I think the damage modeling should be a top-priority in a Burnout successor.

There's also a really weird look to the handling model. The car simultaneously looks like it has ungodly traction unless you initiate a drift, while also looking like it's driving on ice, like the roads are the most smoothly paved roads in existence.

It's a really good foundation, but I think it needs a lot of work. I would hope that they develop this out instead of launching another product, though, because IMO they have expended their passes on cashing in on what are basically their teases toward the game people really want.

I know composing original music takes time and money in itself, but I really loved Burnout 2's music, and it would have been cool to have something like that here.

I don't think I've ever heard Giant Bomb staff say something nice about a cover song. I think they just hate covers no matter what.

I'm excited for this but I'd be a lot more excited if they made the crashes look better. Going from 120mph to 0mph when you hit traffic is really poor form and I hope they continue to improve upon that in the same way they're adding a bunch of features to the game.

I dont' think this was mentioned but this runs at 30fps (with bad frame pacing) on the base consoles and 60 on the Pro and X.
