To address Alex and his precision aiming complaint, I got through the whole game on Nightmare without using the scope. Micro missiles!

It's fun watching Brad settle into a groove as the stream goes on.

@csl316: It's an ongoing theme with this game that I don't want to blame on the dev or the player, really. The dev is sort of at fault for front-loading the weak point systems, but also, the player is sort of to blame for not ever trying to just....murder the shit instead of worrying about the weak points.

I never used the scope EVER in that game...and I barely bothered with the wear points because it often was just easier to shoot shoot shoot. Having said that though, the precision aiming in the game does feel out of place with the rest of the design.

I found this game mostly a chore to play in the later sections but it's strangely relaxing to just watch Brad go through it. Been really enjoying these streams.

These battles go on for way too long. I know the developers wanted to stretch out the DLC and give the illusion that the player is getting a lot of content, but jeez...

Ah yes, skincare and demon slaying. The perfect blend.

And the encounter design is really good. When you get to the last stage and it is three tyrants and a doomhunter you feel like you just cannot even. But it is the same logic behind Genichiro 1c or even the second phase of Smough+Ornstein where it FEELS horribly overwhelming but is actually a lot easier. Because Tyrants and even Doomhunters have a lot less mobility so it is a lot easier to farm resources off the adds.

Its one of those things that feels exhausting in the right ways.

Very brief lore rundown since everyone seemed confused:

Doom guy, a human from earth, mysteriously appeared on the Argenta home world (the space vikings with castles levels you visit). He warned them of the demons coming. The Argenta worshipped the Maykrs (angel robots who gifted them technologyy) and conquered planets in their name, then conquered hell and started harvesting demonic energy for them.

During the war with hell, an unknown Maykr priest performed a ritual with a maykr device that gave Doom Guy his super human abilities (though he was already powerful). Samuel Hayden was that priest, and he regains his original body in this video.

The demon energy was corrupting everything so there was a revolution against the Maykrs, and Hayden wants to stop them. There's a lot more to it but that's most of what you need to know.

Brad inspired me to go back and play Eternal. I got it on release, got 2 hours in and gave up. It was too much for me during the start of the pandemic. Now I am having a great time with it

It's such a shame that the monster in-fighting is just for show in this game. Correct me if I'm wrong but the monsters don't actually damage each other at all, even when they are "fighting".

So I don't know about in 2016 Doom or Doom Eternal, but I recall the "rules" in original Doom 1 & 2 is monsters of the same type can't hurt each other but they can hurt other monsters. No imp on imp or zombie v zombie, but you can get imp v zombie.

And very quick 10 second search (so I may not have it all correct) it seems that there are "scripted infighting" where they'll fight each other before you alert them that won't cause damage and is probably more to have them doing something rather than just standing idle as you approach. But once you engage in battle, it seems like THAT infighting could be real damage (or at a minimum, it can act as a way to distract them so they're not trying to hurt you for a time).

Also it seems they won't actually kill each other in D:E, but at least they can do some damage and stagger other monsters once you get into a fight.

Worth pointing out (IIRC) that the maykr device made the doom guy super powerful by taking all of the doom guys from every alternate universe and putting them into this one particular doom guy, which is so stupid that I love it immensely.

I don't know why but I always really love when Vinny wears a hoodie.

The good thing about the precision bolt is how ammo efficient it is for how much damage it does. You can't really go wrong weaving it in-between quick swapping the SSG, Ballista & RL. It's also the main reason why Slayer dominates the multiplayer meta on PC, because it chunks the player demons from across the entire map and they can't really do anything about it. Which is another reason why the multiplayer isn't very good or well balanced.

The best way to use it is to actually not even wait for the scope to zoom in, because it's able to be fired frame 1 of activating it, so you can just use the normal assault rifle crosshair to aim.

I love this, I hope they continue to the Holt Slayer Gate which is a Breaking Brad session waiting to happen

I would say the cacodemon is far more kowai than kawaii, but that's just me ;)

Bit late to this but for skin care, I use Bulldog products. They’re affordable, come out of the UK, and don’t have any chemicals or harsh cleaners in them. They’ve got a great face wash, face moisturizer, and eye bag reducer. There’s even a sensitive skin line as well.

They also make a face scrub but I’m not sure how useful it is. I didn’t notice a difference, positive or negative.

Nivea’s aftershave balm can also be used as a face moisturizer. A lot of women use it as their base. Again, there’s a sensitive skin version that doesn’t contain any alcohol.

Another thing to think about is shaving. Electric razors and multi-blade disposables can be rough on skin. Several years ago I changed to a safety razor and my skin have looked and felt much better. Not to mention it’s cheap as hell. Two years worth of razor blades is like $13.

The only problem is deciding which razor to go with and then finding the best blade for you can take some trial and error.

As for pits, a topical with retin A works on that.

Watching Brad play this is really tempting me to pick it up on PS4. It's even on sale right now for $32. I just don't think I'd be good at it. It looks too chaotic and I admit I'm a bit of a completionist, so I know I'd be SOL if there are any trophies for beating the game on the highest difficulty.

@countpickles: That gate broke me, 15 minutes of fighting and I kept dying to the double marauder's. Such a tiny arena. The only thing I had to lower the difficulty a notch for to save my keyboard and mouse from further punishment.
