E3 2015: We Talk Over the Nintendo Press Conference

Missed this one cuz I wanted to watch it without commentary first, thanks for being a trooper and getting this up so quick Vinny!

Star Fox graphics looked pretty bad. The first Star Fox game was cutting edge, having one of the first consumer 3D accelerators in the cart. How the mighty have fallen.

It's odd that they didn't reveal what the replacement for club nintendo will be.

No Wii U price drop is pretty disappointing. The console really needs it at this point.

OMG that fucking King of Red Lions attack animation in Hyrule Warriors. I might need to buy that game....

And that is the Metroid game you give me??? God damn Nintendo must hate Metroid.

I also hope this new Fire Emblem is better than the last one. Losing the Terrain feature from the GBA FE for the relationship system sucked all the strategy out of the game. It was just group your guys together to win.

Does anyone feel like the music is kinda off-pitch from time to time like it's on an old cassette? Or am I getting horribly ill?

Damn, the way the Giant Bomb crew's hearts (except Dan) imploded when they realized the Wii U 'Animal Crossing' game was just a board game.

This was down there with EA as the worst ones. I don't think anyone can say GB all hate Nintendo anymore. They were actually kind of positive after this conference while the reaction all across the internet was that people thought it was terrible. Iwata actually tweeted after it that they're going to work hard to be better in the future.

Oh man, the end of Mario Maker was hilarious!

I was kinda bummed about metroid, but over all I think Nintendo killed it. A lot of heart and soul at the end of that video.

Dan's look of joy for this entire video was contagious. I want all this stuff really badly. Especially Animal Crossing Party. This might be the year I get a Wii U.

Found that quite underwhelming for the most part. There was some good stuff but most of it had already been announced. New Fire Emblem looks good and I'm intrigued by Xenoblade as well as SMTxFE. Also that Metroid game was probably the most disappointing thing of E3 for me. It looks awful and has nothing to do with what people liked from previous Metroid titles. I really want a new good Metroid, I'm sure I'm not alone right?

That music in the first muppet segment was actually Mario Galaxy music. So yeah, pretty much Star Fox, since that was Koji Kondo as well. I remember in the credits for Lylat Wars I always thought it sounded kind of like Ocarina of Time music.

Are these comments going to stick when the proper archive gets posted? In any case, I thought this was a fine Direct, and Nintendo's overall presence at E3, from the Smash Direct to NWC to this to the Treehouse stream is great.

I don't know how people can say this was the worst part of E3 when EA and Ubi happened.

I will pay ungodly amount of money for a booklet of those designs. Shit… I want to just spend hours relishing in that.

The announcements here weren't just insignificant, they were actively disappointing. Starfox looks like its being treated as a c tier franchise, you want a new metroid? HAHAHA new animal crossing? Have mario amiibo party!

Why does the music in this sometimes sound like its coming out of a 1960s kung fu movie?

They probably used VLC to play the stream and it changes the pitch when resynchronizes video and audio after dropping frames. It always happens 1 second after the stream hitches.

Is it me or does that second voiceover guy sound a lot like Cry?

I get some folks are disappointed that the E3 Direct didn't have anything really big but I literally can't look at those puppets without smiling.

The coolest part of this presentation was the designer lady for Yarn Yoshi, because she had a Japanese accent while speaking English with a British accent. awesome

None of this is interesting. There have been rom hacking tools that do what Super Mario Maker does for years.

Oh well. I was kinda hoping for another SM3DW or finally a non-garbage Metroid game. Oh well. Another year where I totally ignore Nintendo arrives.

I didn't come into this expecting much from Nintendo, so I wasn't disappointed.

Even ifHitler was sitting in the electric chair with hundreds of thousands of people gathered to see him get his, there would still be a wave of empathetic sympathy if he was about to sneeze and then it was gone.

Odd that nobody remembers their being voice acting in Star Fox 64. After all, that's where the infamous "do a barrel roll" comes from.

Also, I can't hear a damn thing from Nintendo's end.
