That was pretty close, they got lucky they didn't die.

I liked FFX alot, and BulletproofMonk is correct. As long as a char takes at least one turn they will gain XP for the whole fight.

I couldn't get into Blitzball at all. Frankly I never liked any of the FF mini-games, very much lost immersion in those moments.

I can't wait for them to try and fight Lavos early, they are going to die so many times to it.

That was hella close guys. good job pulling it out though.

HA! HA! HA! Bryan yelled "Shut up!" at Batrick twice; my Science Hammer just got a boner. That was awesome; best part of the ER.

That part of the game was cool. Letting you use the crane neat and the code entering event was an appropriate task for that setting. Chrono Trigger is superb!

Man, you missed those chests like 5 times, Ryan. That was painful.

You guys need to go get the infinite ammo Machine Gun guys or else you'll never beat the game!

I might have to stop watching this. You guys are so bad at RPGs. :(

My only Endurance Run wish: Ryan or Patrick would notice that you can heal outside of battles through the Tech screen. They came so close yesterday.

Oh just give Byan and Batrick some time, remember how "great" Beff and Binny were at Persona at first? Then by the end they were... well they weren't masters but they weren't bad either.

I know this is a classic and I've tried to play it myself before, but all the random fighting just really really makes this seem tedious for me. I guess JRPGs just aren't for me?

Why is this reveard as one of the best JRPGs ever again? It seems good but not amazing :/

I don't have a SNES or a Chrono Trigger cartridge. But I just remembered a great site, Virtual NES, and knew they launched a Virtual SNES. I checked and they have Chrono Trigger (But no real idea if the save functionality is working)! Now, I can play along with Ryan and Patrick. :D And figured it was worth sharing with the rest of the ER crowd.

I am constantly amazed by how unobservant these people who play tons of games can be. It feels like when I was younger and would watch some of my friends who had no idea how games worked play the game. They would miss tons of stuff that was totally obvious to me while playing.

They have been skipping so many battles. They're gonna come across a boss who's gonna whoop them so bad. I can't wait.

edit: oh wait never mind, apparently i didn't have to wait for a boss battle to see them almost lose it. they forget how useful grinding is to JRPGs of that time.

When will Brog make his appearance?

The scene of Bobo's fellow security robots beating the robotic crap out of him was pretty intense, made doubly so when both the game AND the character refuses to let you interfere. It is moments like this that make this game one of the best ever.

Oh hey, I'm a master of strategy, lets drop the party member that we just got a new weapon for that's sitting in our inventory so we can have 2 healers. I swear, someone in a coma drooling on themselves could have made a more informed decision.

I'm so glad I'm only watching this until they get to the point where my save is so I can remember what I was doing and finish it myself to save whatever sanity I have left.

They are burning through tonics why don't they use the tech heal spell instead it can be used both in and out of battle like most JRPG's allow i'm amazed hey haven't figured that out yet.

yeah two healers is overkill especially when they don't even use the healing Techs all that much and waste tonics, what's the betting they go right past that door that gives the characters magic abilities.

As long as you have actually played it, you are entitled to your opinion, but judging it solely based off of this series of videos does it no justice.

The music is really great. Victory theme instantly brought back memories of the Chrono Cross version (though I played that game prolly only about couple of hours and didn't understand a thing). The "summer" version is bitchin'.

@onimushroom: Chrono Cross, in my opinion, is the best PS1 game not just RPG. It is an amazing game. I actually dug out my old copy and hooked up my PS2 today.

I was wondering: if you do something like this with a friend and he's the one always holding the controller - would you tell others "yah I beat Chrono Trigger" or "I watched my friend beat the whole thing" ??

@Cataphract1014: I had just gotten into RPGs at the time and it seemed way over my head. Yet somehow I managed to overcome the pain with my first (and still favourite) RPG's, Final Fantasy VIII's junctioning system... Should try to give CC another chance in some distant future/alternate dimension.

Don't use healing techs or anything, guys. It's perfectly fine to just use up all your items.
