GB Crime Crew: Episode 09

first day on a new job, coming back to a bite sized crime crew is just what I needed

They still have one regular heist left and 3 full doomsday heist's left. I wonder how far the crime crew will go ?

Er, despite what they say, I'm going to assume they do the Pacific Standard heist, right? There's no way they miss that one.

That heist ending was dumb. There will be more than one more episode. If there is one more heist they will probably do at least a couple epsiodes for heist set up then one of the actual heist.

@crazybagman: I thought it was pretty self evident, but in case it was too vague for you. The duration of the episode was not to my satisfaction. Happy?

Did you guys miss a setup in this series? There's one where you rob a farmhouse for meth stuff and I don't think you've had it in the video.

@berserk007: It's hardly Giant Bomb's fault that Rockstar's game design wound up being short and dissappointing.

Too be honest, I didn't realize the other eps were that short, my bad.

Good game design: Player has left the area -> remaining players can't keep up with the number of enemies -> mission failure because everyone died.

Rockstar game design: Player has left the area -> mission failure because player has left the area.

I get the sentiment behind this, but this is an impossible thing to balance.

Really more of a regular GTA mission than a heist.

@fedallah: yeah who the hell uses analogies? It's not like they're a common method to explain an argument or something.

Also never said R* mission design is perfect, I just think most complaints about it come from people wanting it to be something it is not, rather than making it execute better on what it's trying to do, hence, *analogy*.

God the writing in this game is just so bad.

Kinda wish last weeks and this weeks had been combined or something. But still love this feature.

Ah yes, what I play video games for.

Watching this at work and my boss walks by as Dan is first person jacking it. Sad that Giant Bomb is probably going to be blocked when I come in to work tomorrow.

The Trevor heist series is easily the worst of the batch. Just felt very anti-climactic. The Pacific Standard is pretty good, which is the next (and final, beside the Doomsday Heist) series.

@shockingalberto: that's literally a huge chunk of most videogames in the FPS/racing/fighting/adventure genres. If you refuse to follow a path, physical or narrative, then you're playing a pretty narrow set of games.

Nevermind that this literally only applies within the missions, which R* has always treated as spectacle-focused set pieces.

So I'm guessing there not doing the 3 doomsday heist's lame that could of been another 10+ episodes

The casual "I'm merging"'s from Vinny and Alex while they bounded over the terrain in their squirly trucks really tickled me for some reason. Love this series!

As for these series: it is kind of underwhelming, partially because the crew doesn't know about every little thing about the mechanics (like storing armor in your inventory). This last heist was underwhelming because the missions were really just like the regular missions: go here, kill them, pick this up and go back. I hope they've more fun with the bank heist.

Not a great heist, but that end cinematic with Trevor was pretty good.

Trevor without a giant beard looks weird to me.
