Why would a company releasing a bad product and then constantly shooting themselves in the foot because they are trying to put off any make good that they can make you hope that company could "catch a break" in a news cycle? I understand not wanting to pile on, but it just seems like a weird sentiment to put forth.

@alex I had the same trepidation as you about the new seasons of Bake Off, but they are good, Paul is not as bad as he was in previous seasons (in my opinion) and all of the new cast are very fun. One of the hosts is Noel Fielding so....

Well never watched game of frones but apparently Jon Snow eats holes.

You can tell they're all real tired because Alex seems more cranky than usual! Also God bless Vinny for keeping that Smash conversation going as painfully long as it did when he obviously doesn't know much about it, the man is a true professional.

@anarchovelo: Noel's weird antics and dry, bizarre jokes are pretty much worth it to watch the new ones's just on their own (I felt the same way as both of you for awhile). I still obviously miss the kindness of Mary and also Sue and Mel, but Sandy is also very funny and pitch perfect at moments. While, like I said in my previous post, I'm not a big Paul fan, I do agree with you that he is actually better in the newer seasons. The only one I really don't care for at this point is Prue, and I still haven't seen the newest season so I might change my mind.

OK, someone PLEASE for my sanity, tell me that Jeff and co have told this cocktail arcade machine stealing story. As they were telling it, I felt such a deep level of having heard exactly this before, with Alex chiming in with context and all that. It was somewhat unnerving.

For those who were around for the original, man, I wish Copilot were more of a thing. Their recent Bombcast where Jeff and Ben were talking about how cool coop tetris is...? THEY CAN DO THAT! I would love to see a stream where they just try to play action/arcade games "coop".

I love the correction for Jeff about Smash popularity and sales. I always scratch my head when he says it’s not one of Nintendo’s bigger franchises. Maybe he thinks each title only sells like one or two million max?

Iron Maiden did actually release a videogame! In 1999, a lightgun shooter called Ed Hunter. It was real bad but came with a 2CD best of soundtrack that was pretty awesome. There's also some F2P mobile thing now that is also bad.

It took me an absurd amount of time to realize the original post was from last year.

I totally listened to almost the entirety of the old one, just thinking "oh, they're repeating some old stories" with the answers to these questions until I got to the Youtube hole-question and I was like.... "Wait, what...?" and to come here to confirm.

It's a shame the Keighleys always happen at the same time as GB is recording their GOTY content. I'd love to see them watch/talk over them a la E3 press conferences. Even if they didn't do it live, because they are in the evening, but watched a recorded version the next day.

About the action movie email, I remember watching a video that claimed The Bourne Identity ruined action movies, and even though I enjoyed those movies well enough, I agree. The cut cut cut cut cut style is so annoying.

@anarchovelo: 90% of the people involved in putting out the game probably did their jobs perfectly well, and had no control over the various fires that cropped up. These people now get to have this turd on their resumes, and may even face unemployment if the bigwigs decide to do some corporate shuffling.

The beastcrew weren't really hoping for Bethesda, the company, to catch any breaks - but the people who work there could use some good news.

As a step away from the rock and metal suggestions that stemmed from the band/game collaboration email, I think Loreena McKennitt should do the music for a game. The first song of hers I ever listened to was, in fact, on a little YouTube ad a modder had made for his Oblivion mod way back in 2008ish. Fit the tone of the game so well - I think she could do a great soundtrack for a similar epic fantasy game.

Great British Bake Off is still good despite the host changes. I was apprehensive despite being a Noel Fielding fan but it's still pretty good and comparable to the BBC seasons. There is a trend to 'mix' it up with "first time in GBBO history!" events but it's not that terrible.

Paul has definitely lightened up, especially in the last season where he was handing out handshakes left and right.
