@toxicantidote: I think THQ was just naive in assuming that since a bunch of other developers have openly posten on 8chan over the years to no controversy, they were safe to get down in that pit as well

Though, 8chan got relisted on google a couple years ago, and their servers are hosted out a public address in San Fransisco. If it's as awash with illegal content as people say, it seems unlikely that they'd still be allowed to operate

I was a Dan supporter. I can't condone this linecutting. Placing the blame on the venue AFTER he stated he was 'going through the exit' means that it was very clear that he was doing a wrong thing. I'm out.

They should place a bodyguard near that toilet and throw people out of wrestlemania for doing this :P

So I watched Poltergeist for the first time at 31 and I thought it was pretty silly and not scary at all. Plus those kids were so obnoxious.

The full implications of that eventual 'streaming & subscription future' might get a lot more annoying than the fear of a service shutting down. A physical game disc doesn't hold any value if it doesn't give you access to the game. The fear of steam shutting down is different from a game dissapearing from all services because a new entry is being put on rotation. With a stream, the actual game files might never make their way on your computer at all, which means that if it's an exclusive stream title, that title is pretty much gone.

Let's hope that it will be a more benign future where we as consumers get more choices to play & buy games in a multitude of ways, but it think it's very reasonable to be critical of this development.

@11111110@rocketraccooncmro

They might not host the childporn, but if it's anything like 4chan, they might have a bunch of users that share links to online filesharing /chatroom sites to share the stuff with eachother. Basically using the chan site as the meeting site. Or they post 'innocent' photo's of underage girls to get the people in the thread. Hints are then given on how to find the actual stuff. These threads will get blocked within a few minutes, but it's enough time to get the message across.

After having seen the comments and answers from the THQ Nordic bullshit I'm ready to call it: The guy(s) responsible are edgelord trashbags in their free time.

It's the typical example of everyone being the hero of their own life's story.. If you're dwelling in the internet shadows all the time, this stuff kinda doesn't seem that bad.. Cause it's the people you hang with.. In the same way that contemporary white supremacists feel little to no shame about being hardcore racists because they find people who agree with them in all sorts of bubbles on the internets, the edgelord quasi-pedos/future child molesters are much less ashamed of perving over mangas with heavy focus on underage girls etc because there's a whole community of people out there reinforcing eachothers justifications. "But she's a 4.000 years old robot girl, she just looks 8" type of thing.

Fire those fucking people. There's literally NO "good" explanation for why this shit would happen. As Alex said, this is literally the job this person has.. Their whole fucking job is to put the company in as good and bright of a light as is possible. The person definitely does understand the internet, IT IS WHERE THEY DO ALMOST EVERYTHING THEIR JOB DEMANDS. Feigning ignorance only makes them seem like complete morons, and they are not morons.. The person in charge of this is likely a piece of fucking shit whose moral compass has led them down a dark path. Shitty humans hiding behind "jokes" are not to be taken seriously. The dude's answers and "jokes" clearly showed that the guy knew what part of the internet he was on. Absolute garbage human right there, and we should have zero tolerance for that shit. Should I be wrong about this (which I am not), the person is at the very least fucking liability and should be fired to stop them from causing future chaos.

It's important to remember that the normalizing of child molestation has happened beneath the surface for years now, and it's very likely that there are tons of people out there who just don't "get it" anymore. After all, a lot of people are running fast and loose in regards to ethics these days. People who fight for social justice are pegged as hysterical evil people while misogynistic racists peg themselves are rational and lawful good champions of order.

These are some strange times.. And people like that morally corrupt clown exist in alarmingly large numbers.

I guess i can only speak for reddit, but in my 6 years of being active there i've never seen people trying to spread childporn around. Is that happening on Reddit? probably. Do you stumble upon that in the wild? Not really. I'd say the same goes for twitter & facebook. You could probably get in contact with people if you were really hunting for it , but i find it hard to believe you would just stumble upon it in the wild.

checking out 4chan, i regularly (like nearly daily) saw threads pop up that were very openly winking & & hinting at eachother about CP. When such things pop up constantly at the same place, it says something about the community that hangs out there. A community can still be a factor in spreading childporn around without their site being the actual host for the illegal material. For instance, the youtube pedophile ring that has been in the news lately.

Before you play all of Judgement, I highly recommend you watch the Japanese TV series from which it is based, and where the main character comes from. It is called Hero, it has several seasons, and is a very entertaining lighthearted drama set in a japanese law office. http://asianwiki.com/Hero_(2014-Japan)

Seeing people defend Dan when he's being an outright jerk AND trying to act like he's completely innocent is one thing...

...seeing them essentially defend 8Chan is something else. Didn't realize how many users here super duper sucked.

Dan’s argument about how he wasn’t cutting the line was bad. Having said that, if I was ever genuinely concerned about potentially going in my pants you better believe I’m cutting that fucking line. If it’s not an emergency then cutting is genuinely a dick move. Having said that, there are people who seem to have extreme views about people who cut lines. Also there are people who seem to have extreme views about Dan. He can be pretty ignorant to a frustrating/annoying degree at times but man people read a lot into him in some very extreme ways. It feels like there are a lot of people who don’t like him so they really want him to be exposed as some right wing prick so that they can be like “SEE?! I knew it the whole time!” Calm the fuck down people. He’s fine. If you don’t like him then you don’t like him & that’s fine but don’t read into shit about a person that really isn’t there folks.

+1 for a Stardew Valley Series! Or maybe a one-off with at least Dan? Could be a good chance to show off the multiplayer.

i wrote a too-mean comment after listening that I deleted after thought, but I still think Dan’s attitude about lines cuts to the very heart of why his perspective bothers people

Dan sucks and Giant Bomb was better when he was quarantined in the West and easy to ignore. Now it's impossible to get Vinny, Alex, Abby, and Jeff content without his overbearing dumbassery taking over the show. No offense, Dan.

If you're thinking about entering politics or leadership of any kind, forget about reading "The Art of War". Read Dune. Dune is about different forms of power, the role of religion as a power mechanism, warfare, and even ecology. Most importantly, it is a very important study on "soft power" such as diplomacy, political marriage, espionage, etc. The focus on powerful women in the narrative is not so much about discussing feminism and gender roles as it is about the traditionally "feminine powers". It is telling that Paul is trained in the ways of his mother but also that he was supposed to be born a woman. He serves as the political ideal, one that leads with subtlety and raw force when necessary. The book neither demonizes nor lionizes the native people of Arrakis, the Fremen. They are seen as both brutal survivalists and intelligent conservationalists. Paul uses them as a tool, but his religious manipulation ends in a great jihad that costs millions of lives. Honestly, outside of condemning gluttony and hedonism, the book really doesn't have any sacred cows. The book's depiction of the struggle for Arakis and its precious resource is something that everyone should learn from.

I'm behind on Beastcasts, but I knew this was coming because of how they talked about it on Twitter. Yes, Dan is bad. The fact that he thinks he is separate from/above line cutters is the most ridiculous part. At least be honest about what you're doing. And he didn't even make an In Through the Out Door reference... for shame.

It's kind of surprising how little they know about Pokémon. Not saying they all need to be fans, but they forgot Sun/Moon existed.

It's weird listening to this late, when they talk about game streaming and consumer ownership, and then realizing that this was from before the Google Stadia reveal. What an odd coincidence.
