@staff Not sure if you'll see this. The feed isn't updating on my podcast app (BeyondPod android), is it just me or is there a problem for others too?

I feel like the energy levels around here are going to get even lower now. Dan was the only one that seemed like he still loved the job and tried to keep the site as dumb as it used to be. I just renewed my sub about a month ago because I still loved GOTY and East Coast offerings. But now it all seems to be going bad.

Whoever you get to replace him has to have his high energy and knowledge of old games.

Dan leaves one dream job for another. If you ever write a book on career navigation I’ll be first in line to buy it. Congratulations man!

I feel as a parting gift, This community should give Dan a dumptruck of Dew & Doritos. Give this man all the 2xp

5 years ago I didn't think I liked Dan.
Man, now it's crazy how much I'll miss this voice every week.

Things I will miss most about Dan Ryckert:

• His insane opinions, like that Goldeneye 007 is a top 5 game ever made.
• His love of Waluigi, the best Mario character
• His wardrobe consisting entirely of blue jeans and black classic rock band T's
• His charisma and mind for new series
• His spats with Jeff on Mario Sunshine or Terminator movies
• His "unique" understanding of science and just the world at large
• His blood feud with Jason A-striker

It's been a good run!

Not gonna lie, the news about Dan leaving bummed me out big time. I am gonna miss the dude and his shenanigans and Godspeed my friend!

Dan, I will truly miss your energy and wit. Your Norm (funniest man on the planet) style delivery is getting very good. Your ability to Work the community is unparalleled. The features you helped create were consistently entertaining and held some of the funniest moments I've experienced in any media. Over the years at GB, you grew to become my favorite personality in the industry, and it will be lesser without you. Godspeed, you idiot.

The Witcher books are exactly the kind of fantasy Vinny described--Cinemax fantasy noir. That's why I dig it. Has he read them?

I urge everyone to stop playing fantasy draft with the staff, or reading the tea leaves about "what this means" for GB as a whole. It's inappropriate and weird.

Well wishes Dan. Gonna miss the wtf realizations you often had. I still listen to the shenmue endurance run often while drifting to sleep. Doesn't hurt quite at much as drew but it sucks.

Also Alex said become a joyous gamer or something, I really really hope that means they hire Natalie Watson, even if it brings in another Nintendo homer.

Wasn't it only a couple of weeks ago Dan was talking about getting a house in New York? It didn't sound like he was ever likely to leave GB.

Side side note, I'm disheartened that a few people are essentially going "Dan gone? Dead site." Don't get me wrong, Dan made and was in a lot of stuff I enjoyed, but just this year, I also enjoyed Ben's Lens, Breakfast 'N' Ben, Dating Games, Gotta God Hand, Grapes and Wrath, Jeff Gerstmann's Pro Skater, PokéMonday Night Combat, Six Crazy Frights, VinnyStained, and then some. I think they've still got legs.

I think its very sweet that Vinny did all that for his families pet fish.
