Two consecutive weeks of sub-par releases and arcades populated entirely by tumbleweeds and the dregs of humanity? It's like Game Room is a "Rise and Fall of the Arcade" simulator. I might cry.

Game Room continues to amaze me with it's lameness.  There must be some group of people out there buying every game just for the sake of collecting them all that has Microsoft doing it this way.

I'm not sure why Gameroom hasn't picked up SEGA yet.  Recently they bundled a load of their back catalogue on Steam - Altered Beast, Space Harrier etc.  However they spent zero effort on it and essentially bundled roms and an emulator together (ignoring the superior PC Golden Axe in favour of the Genesis version, for example), charged exorbitant prices for them and inexplicably failed to release any Sonic game except (lol) 3D Blast.

I like me some Centipede but theres very little on Game Room right now that interests me, how about some classics like Space Invaders, Galaga or Galaxian?  If they dont start releasing something good soon people will loose interest.

My theory for Sega and Namco games being released on Game Room is that those 2 companies contractually haven't been able to settle their releases for the platform. Capcom is another company that seems to be missing from the Game Room platform, but they seem content to individually package and release their arcade games on their own.

According the the stats Microsoft publishes, Game Room is still pulling in decent money.    It's definitely gone downhill, but it's even with last week's terrible selection, it was 4th.
For the weeks Major Nelson published, it's been 1,1,2,3,--,2,3,2,4  I'm sure if they keep churning out garbage like this it'll fall off pretty fast. It has also stopped cracking the top 20 played titles.

God this week has to signal the death of Game Room.  It's progressively getting more and more painful to even demo these POSes.

Circus Atari was unplayable.

Don't you hate it when in real baseball the other team can't figure out how to throw pitches.

Man I had Circus Atari on my 2600... It sucked with the paddle too.
Also, the arcade stuff kinda sucks. I played these as a kid, but I can't see spending money or time on these now.

So much lost potential not having a paddle controller.  I had a ton of fun with Circus Atari as a kid, but it's pointless without that controller.

Thinking back the only games I miss from my 2600 are Cosmic Space Arc and Solaris. And I wouldn't pay money to play them today. Game Room would be awesome if they had a more recent arcade game catalog. Like if they would become the Xbox GameTap.

Even though I have no interest in actually buying any game room games, the game room quicklooks have already become my favorite videos on the site.

@Hourai: The NES?  I don't think Nintendo is going to let Microsoft release their games on the XBox when Nintendo has WiiWare already

I'm personally hooked on the concept that is Game Room. With a few more obscure titles that have a POINT, and are actually fun to play, this could be a really cool service. The billiard games (both Video Hustler and Rack-em-Up), aren't too bad, though.

Why don't they just bite the bullet and release a paddle controller for game room? The kind of people who are going to buy these old arcade games are the kind of people who want to play them right, and the kind with the disposable income to throw down on a little extra peripheral. Either that, or just don't include those releases at all. Why go through the "trouble" of emulating if you're not going to emulate the actual experience people are looking for?
