It's so weird seeing 24fps on this site. And yeah what someone else said, the detail level seems to be so much clearer with the lower light level, could just be depth of field though.

Man, they've taken their time unpacking these. I send them a book by a struggling artist, called "My Struggle" or something like that, but that was a looong time ago and now it's just sorta embarrassing for me, with all that's happened in the meantime.

Sounds like Alex has been playing some more of that there Darkest Dungeon...

All of this makes me want to check out Gundam just to have an excuse to build a kit..

In a fair and just universe, we'd have a G Gundam video game. Maybe a fighting game, maybe just a third person action game with 4-person co-op.

It's a shame they took so long to open these, but it did kind of make the "pick up the purse" throw back that much better.

There already is a Gundam 2d fighting game featuring a good chunk of the G Gundam cast. It's called Gundam Battle Assault 2.

That poster is sweet!

G Gundam is absolutely the best Gundam. Domon wins every fight by fingering somebody, I mean come on. That's pretty cut and dry.

Also that Netherlands windmill Gundam got through a battle royale style tournament by turning into an actual windmill and hiding in plain sight for weeks. And Australia's Gundam is basically just a giant kangaroo piloted by an actual, real kangaroo instead of a person like every other country's Gundam. G Gundam is incredible.

Finally, after all these years the purse has been picked up.

@wagrid: Careful going down the gundam route. It can get really expensive, really fast! Fun, sure, but so much damn money!

@mostlysquares: I'll save you the trouble of actually watching any of them and give you the cliff notes version for just about every one of the series.

- Parents die a lot.

- War is bad.

- The phrase "people wear masks" has never been taken so literally.

That's being reductive of course, but just about every series tries to bash that stuff into your head.

Short of seeing a few character's friends die or turn traitor when it's convenient for the plot, you're basically all caught up now.

That means it's time to pick out a Mobile Suit design you like and buy the kit. At this point, if it was in even a single frame of animation, it's probably got a model version available.

P.S. Negativity aside fellow Gundam fans, I do still enjoy quite a few of them. Maybe the way they usually opt to tell their stories is just wearing on me?

Seriously, it's criminal that Australia never got represented by either a bogan in flip-flops and a cork hat, or by an Aboriginal who constantly gives Gentle Chapman shit for the British invading his country centuries ago. Then again, as an Australian, I'm super biased. Least we had the best mech in Pacific Rim.

Vinny has good taste. RX78 2 is simply the best.

Just to add my two cents: G Gundam is actually a decent anime in its second half.

The first half is awful. Bad animation, no real plot besides Domon fighting the Gundam of the day.

However, wants he runs into Master Asia, and especially in the Tournament arc at the end, it is not half bad! Some alright fights and standard but fun Shonen nonsense and drama.

I still have various unfinished/unopened Gunpla from several years back. I go through periods where I build a few, then not touch Gunpla for a year or so. Tempted... damn it.

I've never built nor watched Gundam, and every time I see them discussed on this site I regret that aspect of my life. I need to rectify this.

The og gundam is cool. Never liked it when they became super overpowered.

Nice Dredd poster there. I just watched that movie for the first time this week. It gave me mixed feelings. I guess the best way to say it is that I liked everything about the movie except the actual story. I wished there was more to it than, Dredd in situation, Dredd fights out of situation, the end.
