Twas very sad to see. Nioh is a amazing game so far but the connectivity issues in the stream are worrying. Now Ive personally not had any server issues so who knows whos end it was on .Im just hoping in the future GBE will return to this dope game.

Also the game itself wont be online only, thats just because the alpha is only playable a limited time.

Thanks for the stream though, you guys rock for sticking with it for so long.

Eventhough the connection problems were annoying, this was still a very fun stream to watch. Giant beast is good at including chat in the chaos.

I've probably got around 20ish hours in the demo and haven't heard anyone have any connection issues. Super disappointing y'all were getting screwed I really like the game and hopefully this doesn't sour the first impression too much.

Why does Playstation network (a paid service) work worse than PC multiplayer, which is free? Anyone else annoyed by this? I hate to be a complainer, but it's pretty much the only recourse, to just complain all the time to Sony.

I hate to be that guy, but this game is not finished.

At some point in the first 15 minutes of troubleshooting, I realised that their background is the same colour as the PS4 background screen and it started tripping me out.

@pappafost: You've gotta remember that while PC gaming has more points of failure, it also has way more to fall back on for contingency. ALSO, demos dog.

This was incredible. Not only did the game look cool (it's a damn shame that it's a Sony exclusive), but their commentary was hilarious through the entire thing. 10/10

Reminds me of playing video games on a extremely underpowered pc when I was a young lad.

I watched all of this but I don't think I really thought much of the game ... what are people's thoughts on it? It just made me want to play witcher or devil may cry ... the loot looked nice but what is the selling point on this? Are people enjoying the demo? Always online is rough ... I don't get it

@steveurkel: It's a game that combines a lot of mechanisms from the souls game and actually blends it with a neat japanese setting and adds interesting new mechanics. This makes Ni-oh very much it's own thing, instead of sheepishly following Dark Souls' rules (something that Lords of the Fallen did). Playing as a ninja in feudal japan is something that not a lot of games these days let you do.

First off, seeing the enemies stamina, makes it able to play out a fight in multiple ways. You can simply dodge attacks till the enemy is tired and then strike back. Or you play agressive and keep hitting him to drain his stamina so that he doesn't have any juice left to attack you.

On top of that, you can actually get new moves and slot them to weapon buttons to expand your moveset. Every weapon type comes with 3 stances. This obviously has the potential to be much more complex than Dark Souls combat.

The stamina system is way rougher than Dark Souls' stamina system. But in some ways, this game is very accomodating to players as well. There are multiple cool super attacks that make your sword have an elemental attack on it and gives you a few seconds to dish out attacks without having to worry about stamina management. And because there's a ton of loot that drops, you can sell this at the shrines in exchange for 'souls' and health items. So even if you keep dying at some point, selling all the junk still might let you level up and gather more health items for your next run.

That said, it's not a pretty game and it's very unpolished and janky. It doesn't run particulary great and the UI is a mess. But it's also a fresh new take on a system that i like a lot.

If i had the same connection problems, i would have probably given up after 20 minutes and moved on.

To answer their question about which martial art is the least respected/dumbest it is without a doubt Aikido. It is entirely based off of unrealistic scenarios, and is touted as the most efficient form of defense in demonstrations that are basically just pre-planed stage plays.

Joe Rogan broke it down on a podcast a while ago, and pretty much proved the whole thing is bullshit.

I know this isn't a common issue with the game that they had, but yes, always online is the worst for games that don't seem to actually need it. Game looks cool though

Vinny mentioned checking out the Xbox Ninja Gaiden - I recently have revisited that game and it holds up surprisingly well. Its still a blast to play and is still challenging. Holy shit was that game's camera insane though.

This stream was so good! Hilarious throughout, plus the game was pretty fun looking. I hope you'll revisit it once the network stuff gets worked out. Just a hoot.
