Why does everyone seem to think these Flashback consoles being junk is some new development? They've been shitting out Atari and Intellevision ones for like four years and a Genesis one for like two or three and they're the same shovelware-filled, cheap pieces of crap this one seems to be.

I haven't played Fallout 4 since I played through it when it first came out, but I remember it being pretty easy to edit the ini files for ultrawide (21:9) support. It's probably even easier now that you can just download a mod to enable it. It's not perfect ultrawide support (I remember some UI elements not being great), but it's pretty good.

In regards to Hollow Knight, I'm not sure that the criticisms of its map system is warranted, as (and I know this is mostly just my experience so take it with a grain of salt) I was able to afford every available map and map upgrade by the time I had moved on from the tutorial area (the black/gray/purple area), and your location on the map can be displayed with the use of an item that can be equipped if I'm not mistaken. You should check out the map store and drop some coin if you haven't already.

As for Dark Souls 3, I can confirm (though of course there are no guarantees when it comes to PC) that DS3 runs perfectly on PC and is the most responsive DS entry to date (though after playing DS1 I'm torn on whether or not I like how responsive it is). In regards to Jason's server issues, people have been banned from the multiplayer component of Fromsoft's games for reasons as benign as having used graphical enhancement mods. I don't remember the specifics, but I remember Super Bunnyhop did a video on it a while back because he experienced a similar issue, though I think his issue was with Dark Souls 2.

On the topic of the myriad issues with the upcoming Genesis Flashback, it's gone from sad to just funny when you realize that audio issues have been comically bad since as far back as at least 2014. It doesn't seem like the current models are as hilariously detuned, but considering AtGames' track record I wouldn't put it past them.

@rorie I know people saying "it gets better the further in you play" is commented on in the podcast and stuff but the deeper you get in Hollow Knight the less of a problem the map thing is. I know that's cold comfort when you've just put a few hours into the game, but that was my experience.

There is a charm you can buy for 220 geo (the currency) from the mapmaker's wife, Iselda, in Dirtmouth (the town on the surface) that'll show where you are when you bring up the map. Also, in the Forgotten Crossroads (the first area directly under the surface) you can meet a character that'll start a general store in town after you rescue them; that character will sell another helpful charm that'll automatically pick up geo for you. The game becomes a lot more friendly after that. I really recommend pushing on with it, the more I played the more I adored that game. Good luck!!

Iowa State fair can get wrecked. Minnesota State Fair is the second largest, only to Texas (because everything has to be big in Texas), and yet the funny thing is Texas has their own booth at MNSF probably due to them trying to encourage people to head there instead.

iirc Atgames is a Taiwan company

it was pretty notorious around the China/Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau region

they struck some 12 years long exclusive distribution deal with sega back then but refuses to publish any of their PC game, which leads to people around that region unable to buy a whole bunch of pc games for a whole decade.

my guess is they probably gonna cash in on this classic console fad and get away with the dosh without fixing anything

I'm with you Kid Icarus fans, loved the original one. It had a great atmosphere. I think I've actually finished it few times, iirc once as adult too, which is something that doesn't happen often (or at all) with me.

Also I'm gonna skip this episode because lack of Jeff. I think Peter is cool, but Rorie's been getting on my nerves again lately (sorry).

That game just seems so clinical to me compared to others like Diablo 3. Maybe I should try harder but so far it doesn't do it for me.

Haven't played all the way through myself but his "spoilers" seemed vague enough that they were more spoilers for those who consider any talk about a game spoilers and not specific spoilers about plot points. Just my thoughts but it didn't ruin a single thing for me; in fact made me more pumped to see it through to the end.

I always assumed that game was bigger and more successful than it turned out to be, I didn't realize until much later that it was obscure.
