I grab 7/11 for lunch like once a month due to it's proximity and quick service when I gotta get lunch and put gas in the car and it bums me out every time that I can't find one

I understand Jeff having difficulty getting back in to The Division after all this time but its unfortunate because I think he could enjoy it. Its not a game for everybody, but if you like a looter shooter it can pretty enjoyable.

The game hit 32K players on Steam with the new 1.8 patch which is pretty impressive compared to an all-time high of 114K players and that the game was only hitting 4-5K players max daily at periods in the past few months.

Jason was in good form today. I hope he's like this during the GOTY deliberations.

The thing I’m getting from all of this is that we need a Film and 40s of The Pest at some point in the near future.

@jeff Regarding the the stuff you can buy in Destiny 2 with legendary shards - what you can buy is the faction (NPC) specific gear that you previously could only get at random by turning in tokens.

For people like me, who wanted to collect faction gear pretty much just for aesthetic reasons (i.e. getting a matching set of armor), it's a very welcome addition. I spent a three weeks grinding out tokens on Nessus attempting to get a full set of the Exodus Down armor, simply because I like how it looks, and the 10th time I got duplicate armor piece instead of the one I was missing, I was ready to never play the game again.

I would have been fine with them just improving the drop system to skew the percentages for items that you don't have, instead of it being pure RNG, but being able to buy them is even better.

It's weird that they got a copy of DJ Max: Respect in. I'm guessing it's the Asian (non-Korean) version of the game that has full English support. I've been a huge fan of the DJ Max games over the last decade and Respect is a fantastic one of those. Even the new music they made for the game is great.

It's a simple controlling game but it can get seriously difficult. Not surprised Jeff wasn't into it. I think he has said that he's not into IIDX either, and DJ Max is similar in gameplay but with much more thumb action. Also the game obviously has mostly Korean (and a bit of Japanese) Pop/Rock music so if you are not into that then don't bother lol. For me though, it's one of my favorite games to come out this year.

Is it just me or is the audio quality for this podcast not good? Every time someone talks, there's weird distortion that happens.

I really hope they do the hold fashioned GOTY deliberation style. I know why they switched, but it was too clean last time. Bring back the slash and burn!

I remember reading a bunch of 4 star reviews for the Jim Carrey Grinch movie when it was released. I also really liked it. The grinch is definitely creepy, though, as Jan points out in this Bombcast.

@ckrauser: At a guess it's due to there being lights in the shot throwing off the light balance. Oh nevermind that wide shot... Still just white balance issues but yeah that's pretty drastic.

MediEvil is one of my favorite games of all time and this remaster announcement is something I’ve been waiting for for like over 10 years. It’s the most excited I’ve been at a game announcement in a really long time.

-Why airships and not just a boat on the water?

RPG's were all about building up that moment where you get to explore the entire world and find quests / strong monsters / crazy item drops. A boat gets you around the water, but doesn't let you explore past mountains. an Airship gives you full freedom to access any point on the map.

FF8 is really good at building this up.

You start on foot with 2-3 locations on an island. Later, you get to travel by train to a new continent. After a while, you get the ability to cross shallow water. Finally, you unlock an actual airship and get the ability to cross all water, and all mountains. Ultimate freedom to explore the world.

Why airships and not zeppelins?

Some of the airships in games are pretty much zeppelins. Some are spaceships. Airships is the general catch-all term. Motorized propulsion is welcomed though ,since you don't want players to wait too long before they arrive at their destination. As long as the vehicle lets you explore the entire world, it's doing what it's supposed to do.

I'm pretty similar to Jeff when it comes to music.

If i know i like an artist, i will probably check out the entire album. If i'm not too hot on the artist, i check the most popular songs from that album and decide if it's good enough to go through the entire thing.

The PSX event was an incredible snoozefest. I don't know what they were thinking. At some point, they had around 8 Sony figureheads sitting on a multitude of couches joking around about budgets while Andrew House talked about having dinner with Kojima. I guess if you're really into the personalities of those Sony people, it's sort of neat to hear them talk together? But for a public-facing event, it seemed incredibly poor.

@jeff's _really_ not kidding when he says they ported everything from the PC version over to the Xbox version of PUBG - you can even hit O on a USB keyboard and it'll bring up a graphics settings menu :p

I can't help but shake my head listening to that stuff about PUBG on Xbox. At a certain point you have to realize directly porting what's effectively an ARMA mod to console might be a bad idea.

I hope one day it's acceptable on that platform.
