Perhaps this goes against the spirit of 'Jeff Gerstmann's Pro Skater', but it might get the crew more involved if you passed the controller around the room between runs. The short run length could work well with regular handovers.

I was too young to remember a lot about the original THPSs outside of surface-level nostalgia, and am too lazy to pick up a playstation to play them now, so............ I like playing the HD remake on Steam. Very glitchy, but it scratches the itchy.

I was inspired by one of Jeff's home streams to order THUG for PC on disk so I can try out THUG Pro, though.

@dan_citi: The quality of the video that the GameBoy Player spits out isn't that great. Would be better off emulating it (with Higan) Why would they use a SNES Classic? They have a PC right there.

Also they do have a GBP, Jan used it for Spider-man.

I'm Tony Hawk and this is my favorite series on the citadel.

I dislike Frankie Muniz for the same reason as Brad. I'm impressed that Ben knows all the lyrics to Superman. Jeff didn't disappoint me with the Animal Fist reference.

I've never played a Tony Hawk game, but I'm totally down for this series. Plus that amazing intro.

I could have sworn I could remember every level from THPS1 but that San Francisco level does not exist in my memory at all.

I'm super stoked to watch Jeff play all of these, but he needs to combo more. You can combo without reverts, sticker slaps, manuals, handstands, and all that stuff. He just was not doing enough kick tricks and constantly relying heavily on sole board tricks. A kick trick comboed into a 360 board trick is a good combo in the first game. Even better if you can grind into it (which he weirdly was doing very little of here as well- needs more grinds).

This is fun to watch. I would play all these again, but breaking out all the games and the consoles to play it on would be a hassle.

I have played THPS4 within the last year. That game is still really good.

I also love the intro here. It is very reminiscent of this video they made one time about 9 years ago when they were but young lads in a basement (watch until the end):

Getting the points to get the tapes / win competitions is way easier if you use grind and flip trick combos while grinding. If you can do a grab into a grind like you can in some places that's even better. Grab tricks were never really great for score stuff until reverts and manuals were in. Once they were in, it was a good way to get a big base score before you do a long grind/flip trick/manual combo.

I went back and played the first 3 tony hawk games last month and it was fun going through them all.

@saispag: Aggressive Inline is one of my most prized gaming memories, nostalgia be damned. I would pay an irrational sum of money for a remake/remaster, especially if they expanded the soundtrack to include even more era appropriate tracks across various genres. There was something uniquely magical about doing obscenely unrealistic tricks in a random amusement park while the soundtrack switched between Reel Big Fish, Eric B & Rakim, and Sublime.

Between this and Mass Alex I've been really enjoying the recent Premium content on the site. I could watch three more hours of this game, honestly. Can't wait for 2 all the way to THUG 2.
