I was really hoping that the story wold have some weight to it, but it looks like a solid shooter nonetheless.

I like this one so far better than the original which is not saying much but, yeah it's looks and plays great. But will it live up to the hype? To quote Scott: "No...No..." lolrus

Seems a bit bland, even if it's gorgeous to look at. Give me COD4 over this any day of the week.

I'd rather play the multiplayer mode I want to play rather than this cycling through modes idea, and that mode I want to play is Headquarters!

Still wrestling with the controls a bit but its pretty good. Also, did anyone notice Jeff stating the dot sight was red? Color blindness strikes again.

Single player is sorta meh (no story, squad AI is retarded, so-so enemy AI) and multi is good but not great. I'm going to toss this in the underwhelming category which so far is where the majority of these PS3 AAA titles seem to be going.
P.S I wish there was a some way to disable auto-reloading when the clip runs dry. I've gotten taken out more times than I care to mention because I'm suddenly in the reload animation.

I have been playing this game non-stop the entire weekend. I cant get enough :)
The multi player is great. I have never liked multi player but I thought I would give Killzone 2 a try, and man it totally won me over!

KZ2 is amazing!
KZ2>>COD5>COD4

I'm trying not to take any jabs at this game because I don't own a PS3 or Killzone 2 but .. I duno, is anyone else looking at all the commercials, all the preview videos, and now the video review and thinking..
"Looks solid but... definitely not a 5/5"

The singleplayer seems pretty standard for an FPS:
Janky enemy A.I. *check*
Story on the same level as any "budge" action film *check*
Weapons that are satisfying to use *check*

And then you have the multiplayer. Again - seems solid but they basically took old multiplayer modes and slapped them into the same match and everyone's like "that makes these modes now fresh ".

I'm not trying to campaign against the game being good or great. I'm just saying, 5/5? Is there a standard for such a rating? Is 5/5 given out on a whim at this website? Are we taking into account that everyone will *probably* be going to go right back to Cod4/5/Halo after a month? Does Killzone2 and >FLOWER< belong in the same rating category as games like these?

Looks awesome but I wish the blood was better. NEED MORE BLOOD!

Well since you don't own PS3 or have not played KZ2, what gives you right to comment on score it got?
Single campaign has it's moments, near the end that really make you go WOW. Story is nothing special, but same goes for Gears of War 2, COD4 and COD5. so why didn't you have problem with scores of those games but all of a sudden this one bothers you?
Multiplayer is best MP on consoles in my mind. Also It really gives you that feel like you are on war zone and changing objectives really help for immersive experience. Sound is insanse gives so much to ralism. MGS4 did great at that too.
Graphics are best graphics on any console. There are some great weapons.
Game is 5/5 if you want to nit pick, you can do that with an game and find flaws, simple matter of fact is this game is a must but and good reason to get PS3 if you don't have already.
but i still recommend to wait for price cut that will most likely come soon.

I completed it around my friends last night in a drunk session and yeh it is a solid shooter but it just doesn't do anything new and for me story is the main focus in an FPS and Killzone 2 just came off more annoying than anything, like Gears of War 2 with all that Dom stuff or Haze. The multiplayer was ok but it just isn't for me and we loaded up Socom instead because I prefer that kinda gameplay, very counter strike like where as Killzone 2 is very COD4 like. Though I did love how they put the Eng in the game with their own turrets which reminded me of TF2, though not as deep and I thought the whole medic zapper gun was lame lol.

So for me it is a 3/5 game but thats just because I have games that already do things alot better than Killzone 2.

I'm pretty sure the AI improves as you play on harder difficulties. I've heard reports of people playing on the easiest setting and simply seeing the Halghast standing around doing nothing at times, while the AI on the hardest difficulty the Helghast outflanks you whenever it can.

Damn I have to go to school now, I was waiting for this video review for 3 years now : D

I've been waiting for this review since I first saw that trailer, and I got to say, the game looks fantastic. Though definitely not the best looking game ever when you compare it to Crysis, still looks great. : )

That's an easy question to answer - Freedom of Speech. Oh, and I've been playing first person shooters since Wolfenstein 3D on 3 1/5 Diskettes. And before that there was the NES and...well you get the idea...

Also I don't have a problem with COD4 or COD5's ratings - they have both proven themselves with tremendous amounts of replay value. Not so much a fan of the Gears series tho, so I don't really care what scores they get. I played Gears of War 1 and the only gun I liked using was the pistol. Game was...kind of monotonous.

The game looks dirty i will buy it.

I have been playing the demo and the game is great, solid ,awesome graphics and fun to play.I`m going to buy it, definitely!

Enemy AI ramps up quickly on Veteran and Elite difficulties. When they have a number advantage they quickly flank and rush up on you and when they are just a few left, they sit back in cover, blind-firing and tossing grenades.

I should be getting this from Gamefly today, if the mail can get through all this damn snow!

Wow, the pistol whip animation looks horrid o.o What are you doing, giving the guy a pat on the back?
Anyway, can't wait to pick this game up!

I am seriously debating on Killzone 2. I think it looks awesome, but online PSN games bore me because no one talks. BUT IT LOOKS SO AWESOME!

played about 5 hrs of muliplayer and gotta say, Killzone 2 multiplayer easily pwns all other FPS out there, and its sooo addictive. btw, the graphics during mulitplayer looks as good as the single player does, thats sick.

I dont have a PS3 so I gotta miss out on this one. :(
