I mean, I guess it looks about as good as I expected out of a co-op Switch game?...

I had to bump the difficulty down during the Dr. Strange fight and it was still hard. I just want to button mash.

Everything in this game aside from the roster and team synergies is a real bummer. I'm trying to push through this game and just not having fun at all

[EDIT] Oh nevermind it's a switch game. I thought this was a real sequel. Explains why the gameplay also looks trash.

There's a lot more depth to this game than what you guys show in this video. A LOT. This is...kinda sad.

@magusmaleficus: not really. You can block and dodge...if you can actually see attacks coming. You can level up the 4 skills you get, and everything else is passive bonuses.

I found the X-men area in this video to be the first area that was actually fun to play. The opening hours aren't great because you only have access to basic/heavy attacks and one power per character. Once I got 4 characters I liked with good Synergy attacks I started to really enjoy the game but I can see a lot of people not making it through the opening hours of this.

Also to Ben's question about levels making a difference, from what I've heard and played, on Mighty difficulty levels make a huge difference, even being 1 or 2 levels below the recommended can make stuff much harder. Which makes the lack of leveling on alt characters even more annoying. I like the game but there's so many things that I don't understand why they did it the way they did.

Eep, this seems... okay, but rough. On the bright side, I'ma dust off MUA 1 for old time's sake, and finally play MUA 2. Fuck, that first game (and the X-Men ones) was so fun.

The vibe and look harken back to the cartoons and the comics. I'm diggin' it. But I can see how people used to the MCU may be a bit sour on this. Hopefully the MCU starts movin' more in this direction. The Guardians movies were more along these lines, IMO, and some of the best in the MCU.

@unastrike you can use the XP cubes that you’ve collected to level up some of your lower level characters to make them useful. This is in the Team menu. I don’t think the game does a great job of explaining this.

I think the success and popularity of the Deadpool movies are partly to blame. We'll have to wait and see how the MCU handles them in terms of the movies. Seems like this game is also just aimed at a younger crowd, and/or generally more "wacky" than the previous games were.

Man, Marvel Heroes was such a great idea, I wish they gave it the budget it deserved. Before they relaunched as "Omega", it really had a shot at being something truly amazing. There were so many different talent specs and costumes for each hero, the only bummer was the pricing model. Too many heroes/costumes were overly expensive without being put on a deep discount.

Marvel has done a lot to kill the X-Men in the past decade.

Kinda bummed this game is only on the Switch, my best memories of MAU are modding the every loving crap out of the game to get just about any character I wanted.

Bring back Marvel Heroes :/

The amount of fan service in this game is astounding. I'm loving every minute of it even if the story is of the same quality as a 90s cartoon. Actually I just wrapped up my rewatch of 90s X-men so I'm probably the exact target audience for this game. Will probably 100% it and level up as many of the characters as I can.

I wish they would put this out on any other system. What a waste.

I think Jason describing it on the Bombcast was pretty spot on. It's very bare bones but it's been giving me all the meat that I want.

It's been a pretty enjoyable experience so far but I'm only a couple of chapters after this X-men part.

It's really sad how many outlets are just glossing over the total bullshit that they are gating iconic Marvel characters (some of whom were in UA 1 and 2) behind a fucking paywall. Like it's already a premium price game with day one DLC to unlock old characters. Sorry, this shit is unacceptable. Why do stupid people keep paying for this?
