God, I really do love me some Alan Wake. I don't really get how people constantly shit on the combat. I never thought it was too much or ever got bored with it. It's so fluid and snappy. Probably the best combat in a TPS. As long as you know how to fucking aim you aren't going to be running out of ammo.

Also, can't wait for people to start complaining about Patrick/Ryan combo

Not watching this yet, because I'm buying this for sure day one. Just wanted to say I am very hyped.

I loved the first one, but I think I'll wait for this one to be on sale or something. If it was a true sequel, I'd be all over it. But being a sort of self-contained short story, I don't feel so pressured to get it right now.

I just S Ranked Alan Wake acouple months ago and boy was that a pain. Hopefully the achievements arent so difficult in this game.

This looks great. I really hope Remedy does bring this to PC. I just finished the original on PC, really good game. And even though it's 3 years old, it still has some of the best lighting in any game I've ever seen (including Battlefield 3).

I just hope they don't go down the "Push out new games quick so we can make more money guys!" and pump out new "episodes" of this game. Also, don't add multiplayer down the road. Unless it's multiplayer Arcade/Horde mode, since that's already in the game. Maybe add some sort of story coop mode though, that would be interesting.

Weird you'd say that, because I think the voice acting is incredible? Maybe the secondary characters aren't amazing, but the narration and Alan Wake/Mr. Scratch are fantastic.

Alan Wake fell apart for me when I found I could just run from checkpoint to checkpoint for about 3/4 of the game.

I was one of the people who liked its ending, though.

let's hope, it won't take 2-3 yrs before I see this on my PC - btw, if you played Alan Wake on xbox & have a PC - it's totally worth it, to buy it again. The graphic enhancements on PC (SSAO, higher textures, FXAA, volumetric lightning, LOD, etc, etc ...)* are excellent.

Re: Ryan's comments about the camera part way through the video, the actual explanation is that Alan Wake uses a simulated cameraman. He runs around as an invisible character in the game world and tries to follow Alan with the camera, so that's why it sort of favors one shoulder or another - the fake cameraman is supposed to be filming over Alan's shoulder while trying to keep the camera focused on the action. They demoed it at a GDC talk and showed you the cameraman running around to try and chase Wake.

@mbr2: Well I feel similar. Played through the entire first game and it felt like a constant gauntlet of running through forests and getting endlessly assaulted by enemies that just popped in from nowhere. Since they were all darkness monsters they all looked the same pretty much - thats the dark quick one, the dark slow one, etc. I also don't see the point of making an Alan Wake game that has more combat, especially since they didn't seem to introduce any new mechanics to it.

Guess I'm the opposite of these guys ... really didn't like most of the first game. But I thought the combat was really solid - stripping the darkness away and having to deal with batteries as well as ammo reloads added a certain something. Felt nice, loved the flashbangs and the dodge move. It just pretty quickly burnt up all my goodwill by getting so repetitive when you had just a light and a handgun and the same three enemies coming at you for the billionth time. Never ran short on ammo either and I played on Hard for some reason where everything takes an extra bullet or two ... unless they bumped supplies up as well to match and overcompensated on the higher difficulty.

Yeah, the woman in the observatory is completely godawful.

I just player AW on PC and really, really liked it. For some reason I was pretty skeptical about the game and it totally blew me away. I agree that it had a bit too much combat, but I playing Uncharted 3 not long before and it had a much bigger problem with that.

The second DLC was also incredible in its own unique way.

Oh man... Oh man... this quick look, or more accurately, that one TV scene, made me instantly want this. If it's available separately on PC, I'll pick it up. If not, I'll think about the XBLA version.

ahhh I am torn if I want to get this, I really hated the combat in Alan Wake, loved the story and the world though, and this seems even more combat focused...hmmmm
