Man, some racist ass shit. Japanese team get some cool greaser looking dudes and the English team get a skinny, sickly yellow looking skeleton thing and a pink Frakenstein.

The dramatic lightning and thunder from Legend of Kage really strikes home; the arcade I used to go to seemed to go by the policy of "louder is better" for every cabinet and that always sounded so awesome.

Also, it was one of the first side-scrolling beat 'em up type games I recall where your dude could straight up defy gravity wuxia style. So much more of a badass than his peers.

I came here to watch Jeff get all the trophies. :(

Jeff explained Mahjong correcty. It's a rummy style "card" game for 4 players. I play it often.

The game in this collection (that we all know) is often called "Turtle" or "Mahjong solitaire"; it uses the tiles from Mahjong. Other than that, it's unrelated.

And like with most "card" games, there are a ton of different variations based on where you are playing and who you are playing with. Traditional Chinese Mahjong is very similar to rummy. American Mah Jongg (also called NMJL, or Jewish Mah Jongg) is like the bastard child of rummy and hearts.

I like Strats... almost as much as I like Teles. They sound good, are pretty to look at, durable, and I just find it easier to do routine maintenance on them myself.

I watched every episode of the anime Akagi: The Genius Who Landed in Darkness and I'm still nowhere close to ever understanding actual Mahjong much less how you're suppose to win. Thanks for the video.

Has Jeff played The Legend of Kage on this site before? I swear I've seen it in the past and I don't really know of any other video game site that I'd see it on, so this would be my best guess.

Yeah, there are tons of differences between different variations. Chinese versions usually have bunch of extra tiles compared to what I usually play, which is Riichi Mahjong - the Japanese variation. Not even getting into house rules and whatnot.

I always called it Legend of Cage when I was a kid, god I loved that game.
