 Just finished playing it. This game is challenging for all the wrong reasons.

Dude when you pick up the "Goblin mask" you will instantly know what to combine it with. Thankfully there is one outside a workbench room and the item to combine it with is in the room beside the work bench.

Doesn't look like a game I'd like. Controls seem to be unnessecarily janky.

The boss fight in Case Zero was the same way. You have fun the whole time up to there, and then it's you running around (hopefully with a shotgun) trying not to get shot and shooting back when you can.

Reminds me that I should try to S rank Case Zero while I wait for my copy to get here in the mail.

Been playing this since Friday and I think it's fucking great. As some of the GB-gang has mentioned before though: If you didn't like Dead Rising 1, you can just skip this one.

So Fortune City looks a lot like a mall.  

This game looks very intense. Man the shooting looked poor though. 
 
I guess that's not what DR is about.

I can see the appeal of this game...it seems very video gamey. Most certainly not the game for me though, thanks for the QL fellas.

Well im not sure if i should see this QL...It would probably make me shout at the screen down the line (hello Case Zero QL i am looking at you) then again Jeff and Ryan are at the helm...so it's wont be as bad
 
but it also looks like its managing to give a bad impression, to which i say boo. It amazes me to see so many people who have not played DR before, i remember the first being insanely popular but i guess i was living in the clouds or something.
 
Anyway i love it, and my complaints are all spoilers so im zipping it.

Jeff's going to be so disappointed when he sees what the IED actually does, I sure was.

This makes me realize why I loved case zero and hated the first/won't play this.

looks cool, I want to buy it.

I'm on the fence about this one.  Time-limit quests are usually a deal breaker for me.  

I think my problem with these games is just the mission structure... I would love it so much more if it was more like GTA, do whatever you want in the world, and then go activate missions when you want... I know that's not really the game, but even just a mode without the timed events would probably get me to buy this.  After playing DR 1, I know this wouldn't be fun in the long run for me.

After watching this, I definitely think I had my fill with Case Zero. Maybe I'll play this next year after the price drops.

Really what the hell where the designers/devs on?  
Why put guns in the game then Nerf them to the point of ... err... well... Nerf guns? 
Would it have hurt to give the merc's bats/wreches/chain saws/etc? And in doing so not make the average gamer sit there and think "WTF I didn't know Broke Back Mountain Halloween costumes where made of kevlar?"
 
Obviously it's a game and realism takes a back seat, but gamers have an established level of suspension of disbelief : nano-bots from the year 3033 are more effective at healing than a bandage, ripping a guys head of complete with spine is more effective than low-punch, and assault rifle > club. 
 
Some times the skill in designing something is what you leave out.

Zombies are totally played.  Doesn't mean that this game looks bad, though.  I think I'll wait for it to drop to $30 or so.  I got Dead Rising for Christmas, but didn't like some of the jankiness (especially taking photos).  This one might have eased up enough on the restrictions to enjoy.

A nice long Quick Look, rad.  I'm definitely not getting Dead Rising 2 at full price.  Once it gets cheap I might pick it up.

There's no such thing as a "Canadian accent"!

Stacey is way less annoying than Otis was.  She only actually calls you about important story events.  Survivors and psychopaths are done through messages that you can check at your own leisure.

bummer i was hoping they changed a lot of the stuff that made the first game not fun...guess not.

Am I detecting an unenthusiastic note from our beloved Jeff and Ryan?  Jeff at least seems to enjoy playing the Dead Rising games, but they both sound kind of resigned.  Is it because this one seems so similar to the last one, but they know they'll play it anyway?
