It's funny too because I personally find those regen builds to be the best way to suck all of the challenge, and in the process fun out of games...but whatever.

Also why oh why did they play the 360 version, it looks so bad, and I'm sure the PC looks way better oh well.

Progressive Bullet (Fire?) Stabilisation? Other wise it seems to general, as any number of things could stabilise over time in games.

I have a question about the loot in multiplayer games. Does anyone know if it will function like Diablo 3 (your own loot) or like the first game (everyone grabs from same pool).

Probably true. I think I remember hearing the GB guys saying a while back that the 360 is the easiest for them to capture footage from as well.

Immediate texture pop in on loading and then regular frame rate drops. Yep , this game is finished alright.

It is so painful to watch someone play a first person shooter with an XBox 360 controller.

360 version has annoyed me after only looking at it for 50 minutes. Crazy loading times, texture pop in, horrible aiming, slow-down.

I really, really anticipated the first Borderlands, but got bored with it after about 3 hours. I had to stick it out til the end of the game because I told my roommate I'd play with him.

I can't really put my finger on what didn't work. The enemy interactions all felt bored, and the loot aspect didn't appeal to me like I had expected. The environments were also very bland. Playing with someone else, I always felt rushed, and playing by myself I could find no motivation to move forward.

So, I'm gonna wait for this one to hit $15-$20. Or maybe get it out of the Redbox, to see if anything's changed. Just from the first 10 minutes of this QL, it still doesn't look like my cup of tea.

The original with a controller was fine, so I'd imagine it's more a matter of "I'm demoing this game, so let's kill things as fast as possible". If you couldn't hit anything with a controller, the landscape of modern gaming would be vastly different.

Shit looks good for a console game. When the skill tree first loaded up I thought it was the PC build. I guess the new, more colorful, environment might go a long way to making the sequel look better.

Nice to see that it runs fine on the 360. Hopefully the PS3 will be stable too. Looks damn good too for a late-gen game. Hell more Borderlands is more Borderlands, I was going to lap it up anyway.

Although I played quite a bit of the first game, I share the exact sentiments.

The PC snobbery around here has gotten 1 million times worse since the Bomb Crew started talking about playing third party stuff on PC and it's increasingly annoying. Consoles are old now...we get it. 
 
Anyways, I want to watch this and soak in some Blands2 info, but I've avoided watching anything aside from one trailer and it's so close now that I feel like I should just wait and take it all in when it comes up. Insanely excited.

2 important questions:

1) is it possible to dfownload this video preview?

2) are all maps in the game so linear?

I picked up the GOTY edition of Borderlands last year and was really cool on it. Like all loot-based games, it's fun in the beginning when you are finding better stuff all the time, but as the game advances, most of the loot becomes just stuff to sell, because it's probably not as good as what you have.

Also, I found the combat extremely tedious. And with all the back-and-forth travel, you wind up fighting the same boring fights over and over and over.

They should have brought in Brad Muir to pretend he was Paul in discussing the things of Borderlands 2, even if he didn't know shit about it.

I never really understood the "Borderlands looks so much better on PC" statements anyway. How can you make that art style look significantly better on PC? I mean besides having a higher resolution. The textures are going to look pretty much the same and I never noticed any bad texture or model pop-in on console.

Looks fun, however the certainty of a shit tonne of dlc means I'll wait for the GOTY edition most likely. But yeah, SHOOT THAT GUY.

@CptBedlam: The biggest difference (in my opinion) is the higher frame rate on the PC. I'll admit it does look a lot nicer at 60fps, but it's by no means a deal breaker for me.

Considering the fact that pretty much all of the footage of Borderlands 2 up till now has been from the PC, yes it is a little crazy and annoying to hear people demand footage from the PC alone.

Did the big bad meanies on the internet upset you? Aw diddums. Scanned the last few pages of comments and could count the number of negative comments on one hand. Hardly a problem to the extent you're moaning about.

Personally I think the game looks pretty bammer regardless of platform. Almost unchanged from what we saw nearly three years ago. My apologies if this opinion is offensive to anyone.

@DrFlapjack: I tried playing it two or three times after I picked it up on a steam sale. I just couldn't get into it for some reason. I think I may just be burned on gaming in general right now, but something about this game didn't really hit me as I thought it would when I bought it. Though I think a lot of us who have grown up with gaming have piles of shame that grow as we get older.

I think I have the same problem with this as I did with the first one, I couldn't finish it cause I got bored with it. It didn't put it's hooks in me.

I really tried to enjoy playing it but it just felt boring, I guess I needed a story to follow cause to me it felt like a mmo story with fetch quests and stuff. Maybe it would of been better if I played co-op.

I'm not saying it was a bad game or that it wasn't fun, it was fun but not for 50 hours maybe like 12 hours.

I totally missed out on the first one somehow. Can't wait to get into this dude.

Between the 2K PAX stream with XCOM and BL2 and this QL I'm pretty impressed with the quality of the game. It'll be interesting to see how the reception's gonna go. I wasn't completely on board with the hybrid RPG/ FPS balance of the first game. Little lacking on the hard-hitting shooter side and not entirely satisfactory concerning the character progression systems either for me. But I'd sure like to get into the BL universe at some point, maybe this time around if I find the time during Torchlight 2 exploration.

OMG I CAN'T WAIT.

I'll go as far as saying the BL1 is my game of this generation (crazy, I know), so this game should blow my mind. And I trained my girl how to play BL1, so she's equally stoked for this. Thank you BL for turning my chick into a gamer.

Yeah, I dunno, maybe. The art design still looks real bad to me and I don't really care about the world. I think loot is generally pretty boring in and of itself, so that doesn't grab me either. I don't think I'm seeing the attraction this time either.
