Quick Look: Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise

This video seems kind of phoned in. Jason's tone just has no energy and he jumps right into the game without explaining what he's doing or why he's doing it, or even introduce the game for that matter. With that baseball mini game he just says "I want to go do this thing" and then just does it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who paused the video and walked into the comments to disagree with him.

@ninkendo: level wasn't the problem. Not dodging or using charge moves was. If you hit him consistently you can stun and do a ton of damage with the QTE moves. Honestly I'm not much farther than this in the game but on my first try I beat Rei with a tiny sliver of HP remaining on hard and it was intense as hell.

I played the entire game with the Kiryu skin enabled. In my head I created a dumb fan fiction where Kiryu slipped through an interdimensional portal that brought him into post-apocalypse Japan and everyone calls him Kenshiro for reasons he doesnt understand. Also he is super good at mixing drinks now.

Sega has only just recently started porting the Yakuza Series to the PC depending on how that goes they may port over Fist of the north star but who knows when that will be.

Largely a side effect of him being bad at the game.

There's a lot more to than that is shown and it seems like probably the worst chapter (short of the last two) to show the game off. That fight with Rei was honestly rough as hell for me, too, but it's the only time I've had to retry a boss. I have mixed feelings on this game in specific parts but I enjoy it. I say maybe wait for a sale if you're unsure, but this game was made on the Yakuza 0 engine by new hires (as I understand it) to cut their teeth and while there are some really annoying decisions (no sprinting when a lot of things need you to go from one side of Eden to the other) there are also some awesome cutscenes. I wish they had shown the fight in the arena before this one.

I also don't know why Jason doesn't realize your combo string determines the state you leave an enemy in which determines what techniques will be used if you choose to use them. And yes, the charged thing he buys up all four levels of is a great shortcut to use the techniques you specifically want. The racing/driving definitely needs an overhaul and the game is kind of grindy compared the last few Yakuza games. I feel like Jason was probably just pressed for time on this QL or is balancing other games at the moment. Jim Sterling is probably a better place to check if this game is up your alley.

So the volume of this Quick Look is way louder compared to the other 5 or 6 videos Ive watched on the site today -- and thats a GOOD thing! I don't know what you guys do for sound mix, or the level you aim for on your videos? But GB seems to have the weirdest mixing; some videos are loud, some are super quiet. This one was actually good.
But I notice that I used to have to turn my laptop volume up to like 80 or 85 (out of 100) to hear what the guys were saying - today I was just watching the Bombcast and the World Ends With You Quicklook for instance - I had to turn my computer volume up to 97! Then this came on and it was way too loud at 97 - so I had to turn it down (to 70 which is nuts!).
I wish you'd record like this more often - like how this video was mixed. But maybe you do this lower level for headphone listeners or something? Its not a volume issue on my laptop, because if I go to other sites, and I play something right after watching a GB video - the music on the other site is blasting. For some reason GB is just very quiet on a lot of its videos, and I cant go much higher!!!

So keep doing whatever you did here! :) Just pointing out my experience...
