Forza crowd secrets REVEALED!

While it was a great game, it's shit like that that soured Forza Horizon for me. Not only was there a small selection of cars, but there were a lot of cars that were actually in Forza 4, but DLC in Horizon.

If you told me this was a 360 game I'd almost believe you. Looks a lot less next gen than they made it seem at E3. Looks like BF4, Killzone and Rivals are the most impressive of the games so far. (Ryse is okay, but is extremely artificial looking with its forced lighting)

Looking at the crowds was easily the best bit. The arms crossed lady is definitely from the Nintendo Conference a few years ago.

The last game in this series i played was Forza 2. It wasnt nearly as car porny then. I dont like it !

Jeff, you can't complain about how the other "drivatars" drive like jerks. Your "drivatar" is the biggest jerk of all, no doubt about it.

I'm a few hours into Forza 5 - it's very, very good. It looks amazing and the driving is better than any other Forza game I've played (3,4 & Horizon).

But.... what I really want is a new xbox one Horizon game :) I'm sure Playground Games is hard at work on one, but I suspect I'll need to wait a year or so :(

That is exactly the kinda show that Jeff would be into. Those dudes (Top Gear) put a Toyota Hilux on top a building and blew the building up just to see if the Hilux would survive. (It did) They drove a car to the North Pole!

I'm with @brad on the car detail s plateauing, the environments themselves certainly look better, but car models have looked totally fine for a long time now, on the PC since around 1999-2000, and on consoles since the mid-PS2/Xbox era (2002-04).

Jeff has mentioned that he's seen the show, and found it entertaining. He just can't stand their talking in the Forza games, for whatever reason.

They said the crowds looked great in-game, at speed. When taking a closer look, I think they meant they were awesome from more of a humour perspective. In a racing game, I could see why a detailed sprite would probably look better than a polygonal crowd with less detail, unless you noodle around in the replay function like they did.

Every game looks like shit if you only zero in on the visual compromises the developer has to make. And sprite-filled crowds have been around a hell of a lot longer than 1999.

Lol! Funny listening to them talk about cowl induction. Those hoods on the nova have been around for a long time. Cowl Induction is very popular on that type of car (as is the other hoods) and has to do with the air going in through the back between it and the windshield. A google search will explain this much better. But yeah it isn't just some crap somebody at the game company made up.

I love the cars you guys find boring while I actually find the supercars a bit boring, they're just too unreal to me. The "boring" cars (aka momentum cars) require a deft hand and real skill to get around the track with consistent times. With the supercars, at my lower skill level, anyone can just mash the pedal and make it go fast.

Porsche wants mooooooooonnnnnniiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeesss. Lots of it. More than anyone ever deems worthwhile, it seems to be. And iirc, they really don''t like anything that shows damage on the car. At aallll.

@matoyak: Wouldn't be surprised if that were true. I only ask because my first care was an old '83 Porsche 944. Loved that thing. Wish I could play a game that had one.

If you are a racing sim fan, this game is fantastic. It's really nice to be able to lose control of your car because of your own mistakes again(turn all aids off except for abs) and have to actually use some skill to drive the car. Beautiful visuals, great sound, highly recommended. If you do not like actual realism, stay away from this game.
