Have there ever been any good Mario sports games? Golf was fine but you can't really screw that up too much.

Most Mario sports games were pretty good back in the day.  Mario Golf and Mario Tennis jump out at me as really good games - I played the hell out of some Mario Tennis.  I'd even lump Mario Kart in there considering it started the whole trend of jamming Mario in everything.

Good gracious, the Wii controller on-screen pointer is shaky as hell to me after watching the Dead Space Extraction HD Quick Look. The Move cursor was still a bit shaky (is that even a word...?), but not as much as this - of course I probably only noticed because I own neither Move or a Wii, so I haven't had a chance to get used to the latter's movement on a screen.

Shame this game comes so close to Marvel Vs Capcom 3, otherwise I would have picked it up. Seems fun with 4 people. 
 
Does anyone else remember the DS Basketball game? SquareEnix worked on that one too, and it had awesome music. (As well crazy-tough Final Fantasy players!)

Really wish we could more PSP coverage if we can cover stuff like this.  So many excellent PSP games that fly under the radar.  Oh well, this could be a good party game for people are pretty young (or very drunk)

Unfortunate. Mario Sports games used to actually be good. I remember Mario Golf in particular being a surprisingly good golf game.

Yup, totally agree with those picks. Mario Golf on the Gamecube and Mario Tennis on the N64 got a lot of playtime from me. I also really like the Mario Strikers (soccer games) series, which had titles for both the Gamecube and the Wii.
 
In an unrelated note, that last hockey minigame reminded me of a really bad version of Monkey Fight from Super Monkey Ball, which is a shame, because that was some fun business right there.

In basketball on Luigi's Mansion, the chandeliers are supposed to be the hoops, but the hoop in the foreground (on Ryan and Alex's end of the court) is still represented by a standard basketball hoop during play. I don't know why that bugs me, but it does.
 
I'll write a letter to Nintendo and let them know. Hopeful they still have time to recall every copy before shipping.

Well that may be your opinion sir but I think it is rather irrational to say that any wii game annoys him as hell. His issues with the wii are... well all games for it. I mean if you want to hate on mario sport games thats fine, in fact in this case that is almost certainly what you should be doing, but to dismiss all games out of hand on the wii because they are on the wii is just dumb.  The wii has had some excellent games and hey if you don't like the wii that's great but that sort of fanboy close mindedness well frankly... I had some issues with it. Somehow it annoy me as hell.

Nintendo really needs better quality control when it comes to their farmed out games. Retro seems to be the only developer that can come even close to the quality Nintendo themselves can output. They should really just open more studios and make these games themselves.

That bugged me too. A lot of the graphics in the game bugged me. It seemed liked none of the important things stuck out at all visually. Like the ball and nets were really desaturated and hard to see.
