I doubt that they'd be able to complete Persona 1, on account of it being so much harder than P4.

No, that's not it.  If you go see the Devil Summoner 2 QL they called it an "Endurance Look" because it was basically a long quick look and in the video they joked about making an Endurance Run out of it.

Yeah, but I guess all that could become really overwhelming.  Maybe that's even why they took the Slash, Pierce and Smash damages out of Persona 3 and made it all physicals in Persona 4.

It's interesting to see the roots of Persona. Looks like some of game elements like demon negotiation and the overworld map carried over to the Devil Summoner games. Though I am not getting a PSP just for this game, so I won't be playing it.

The original  Persona is definitely far too hardcore and oldskool for Jeff and Vinny to really get in to.
It doesn't have the fantastic characters and voice acting that P3 and P4 bring to the table and the mechanics are very intimidating.
 
That said, I'll definitely be getting this. :)
