Quick Look: Persona

Wow, this took me back... awesome to finally see the game with a proper localization.

Pretty neat. Perhaps this is the next ER candidate? Hohohohoho.

They're really digging Atlus these days huh? More specifically the Persona franchise.

Awesome quick look. I've never played the original game, but I'm really interested to check it out. I hope that I'll be able to, but I need to get a PSP first.

booooooorrrrrriiing. why go to all the trouble of remaking the graphics if you're gonna leave it isometric with stiff-movin characters? nostalgia is for nerds, they shoulda made the visuals look like Crisis Core. yea thats right, baaaaaad ass.  

that one dude, from new york, Vinny. he was right. Persona 4 spoilt me on voice acting too. reading is for nerds.  

I laughed at the name Jeff gave the MC, because before that happened I thought, "I bet it's going to be something like Chuck Tuna." 
 
Awesome Quick Look, can't wait to get this game and use my PSP for the first time in months.

Alright, I hate to complain, but why does the game picture only take up roughly half of the video? I know you're playing the game on the PSP, but why do you need to point that out in every second of the video? Putting the game in a little box not only makes it smaller, but also makes the quality worse. If there's something I don't get, ignore me, but this setup is just distracting and annoying in my opinion.
Thanks for all the sweet videos though :p. I don't want this post to sound negative, it's just something I felt I needed to put out there.

Oh man, this makes me want to run out and buy another PSP.

Played this once (not the PSP version). I liked the characters and story, but didn't stick with it long because of random encounters. I can't stand that, especially in this where it's confusing to navigate the dungeons.
 
It even throws in random encounters when you're navigating the town.

A Zhuangzi quote?  I'm in.  Hopefully Persona includes a quote from the portion of his works that includes carving up the ox.

interesting...it was cool to finally see philemon, aka Igor's master. I hope they bring him back for persona 5. All of the new cutscenes look really good, but the in-game visuals take some getting used to.

This is a system seller for me.  I am strongly considering picking up a PSP when this hits store shelves.
 
And I think Mark must be a great fan of Nigerian/British singer-songwriter Seal.  They have the same facial scarring.

Looks like they didn't remake enough of this game. It looks dated as hell, and I don't just mean the graphics either.

i don't know why, but the audio for videos recently and the podcast has been different.. maybe it's me.. iduno..

Oh oh, do the gorgeous Shin Megami Devil "Something" on the DS, 
but I don't think GiantBomb has DS-recording hardware/soft..ware?
I don't remember any DS QL's.. also I'm high.

As much as I really want to believe this game is good, the design just looks too dated for it to be enjoyable anymore. Random encounters are a big turnoff for me nowadays, and the characterisation doesn't even look half as good as Persona 4's. I'm very much looking forward to a review of this when it does come out, but my hopes are low.

Wow, those cutscene animations are awesome! The shading looks like it should, and it even stutters a little bit like hand-drawn animation. Nice job.

At which point is a look no longer quick? Cause this is 45 minutes...not that I'm complaining.

The Quick Looks on this site are some of the best previews I've seen on any of the gaming sites. In some ways I prefer them to reviews.

Persona has really come a long way.
