Quick Look: Rock Band Blitz

I know I'm out of touch when someone says a song is "overplayed as hell" and I've never even heard of it before.

As soon as Ryan started playing the actual game,I went cross eyed.

The multipliers on different highways confused me at first but I think I understand it now. Also, I've got the moves like Jagger, got the moves like Jagger.

After reading some of the comments, now I feel bad for getting how the game works.

That and playing the hell out of a game before doing the quick look so that we no longer get any kind of initial impression of anything. They used to just jump right in and show the learning process, sometimes they still do, and those are always the best quick looks.

There's no winning. When they do it that way, people freak out because they're not experts at the game. Someone's upset and whines in the comments about it incessantly either way.

Well its better than Brad gushing over stupid minutia like TITLE CARDS or when he stops and oogles a fucking texture and goes on and on about it, he's one of the worst for quick looks because he plays them as if he's playing at home, while hes NOT hes playing with some seemingly random time allotment.

Jeff and Vinny seem to be the winning combination on these, and Drew is great too, patrick is one of the most annoying and makes the most unwatchable QLs on GB, unless theres Jeff to balance him out. It seems like even they(other editors) get extremely annoyed with patrick from time to time, which is great.

You idiots will literally bitch about anything.

HaHa. They must just roll their eyes everytime they look at the comments and see no matter how they approach their work someone is always complaining.

Seems kind of cool, loved Frequency back in the day and this seems like a modified version of that

I know people seem to like this but Rock Band/Guitar Hero without the instruments is worthless to me.

So no "hey pay $50 for all past DLC" option?

And the game is only worth it if you own past DLC from the rockband games, none of which I own?

Well this game looks cool, and unlike a good chunk of people on here I understood how the game works, looks cool, but I will never buy, because I have no DLC and both Jeff and Ryan said it wasn't worth it if I didn't.

Moves like Jagger is the stupidest fucking song.

I went down the Guitar Hero path, which in history was the wrong path, but I don't really regret it.  
Sadly this means that picking this up wouldn't really do any good for me without a ton of DLC purchases.

Good Quick Look. I don't think this game is for me, but now I understand what the game part of this is. I have a ton of DLC but I think I'd rather use the plastic instruments. This seems more of an active score attack experience but my favourite part of Rock Band is enjoying the groove with a single instrument.

Ryan sure loves his menus.

That would involve Harmonix losing like $4000 on every sale.

When you take out the instruments and make it basically a single player game, it really seems like at that point you've basically got Audiosurf but without Whatever Music You Have support. As a track pack expansion it's not an awful deal if you like the songs though, I guess.

I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back into the world of music games.  Unfortunately I don't have enough Rock Band DLC that I haven't overplayed.

They really didn't need to spend seven-plus minutes explaining mechanics before actually playing the game.

It's actually kind of funny, though, because this Quick Look is guilty of over-explaining things when the usual problem they have is jumping into a game and then complaining about the game due to their own ignorance of mechanics that were explained in tutorials they either skipped or glossed over.

People need to realise... Ryan loves himself some menus. Thought the GB community already understood that. Understood how it works, even though the way Jeff explains it was a little confusing at first and to be fair, Jeff admits that it's taken him a few hours of play to figure it out himself.

This basically looks like Audiosurf with a few more mechanics.
 
Extra mechanics doesn't beat being able to play every single song you have though.

I've spent like $200 on RB dlc, so this game is kind of a must own since no one wants to play the 'real' game anymore.

Y'know, for Ryan saying that it's difficult for him to talk while playing the game, he did a pretty good job at talking while playing the game.

and I just deleted all the Rock Band stuff on my HD like a week ago, because all my Rock Band controllers are on the other side of the planet and I figured I'd have no use for them here.

The music selection looks terrible.

This game is a LOT of fun. The music selection is pretty bleh, and I'm not dying to spent 2 bucks on songs, but the gameplay is fun enough to make me play songs I wouldn't listen to. Then again, Rock Band and Guitar Hero were like that too anyways.

It looks and plays too chaotic why couldn't they make it work like RockBand Unplugged? that game was great.

@AngelN7: It takes a while but you eventually get a grasp on all the crazy. Once that happens, everything about how it plays becomes less chaotic and starts to make sense from a design perspective.

I liked Frequency and Amplitude in concept, and im glad harmonix finally got to do it again and make it more visible.

I would love to play this game, but i hate the music.

This would be great with some tecno, drum n bass, and Dubstep.
