Ah, first few minutes of this game takes me back to my days with the ZX Spectrum. When people were patiently waiting for games to load. Also like the way Jeff says "Zee X" instead of "Zed X". Oh, Jeff.

As a guy who subbed because of quests I'm with you on that front.

That being said, quests like the old "First" and the ones related to posting a blog to forums, etc, should absolutely be pruned if they ever returned. Also, you couldn't get the first post quest by posting in this manner as it specifically told you not to be obnoxious, such as posting "First!" That's all duder!
