I don't like rap music or the whole hip hop lifestyle, but this game looks pretty good. I like the art style and the perspective shifts. It's too bad the framerate drops so often--maybe the PSN version is better?

Interesting concept. One unfortunate thing is that with all of the graffiti art aspects to the game, the developers went out and got a facebook game character artist to design the characters; really out of place.

Concept is pretty cool, but it seems to lack in interesting gameplay and variety (and smooth framerate).

Not too big on the music for the game but the actual gameplay looks fun. Definitely know a few people who might like this & probably haven't seen it on steam yet.

Hey Mark Ecko, why not make another one of those "getting up" games? I really enjoyed it. And you, Def Jam, I could go for another one of your games too. More hip hop games and black protagonists for everyone, i say!

I dunno why, because I don't get nauseus easily, but looking at that made my stomach move in ways I never wanted it to.

There should be a lot more hip-hop themed games. It's an aesthetic that isn't explored very much (in the games I like to play).

Anyone ever play that old PC game Nox? Dunno why this QL made me think of that...

The game is interesting and fun, but I do not like all elements of the presentation. The music blows, for example (though Jeff's rapper attitude makes it easier to swallow here). And the game in general runs out of tricks and settles into it's own thing too quickly. The controls are really loose in general too. But overall, all the good far outweighs the bad. It's just...not as good as I was hoping.

They should've QL'd this awhile ago. I could insert generic comment about Xbox 360 bias here...but I won't. Giantbomb doesn't need to review things as they see fit, so far as they balance it out by QL'ing games no one else covers.

Kind of reminds me of Lost in Shadow in terms of screwy perspective changing. Other than that the game looks fine if you can tolerate hip-hop.

Also did anyone experience tons of screen tearing throughout this video? Wondering if it's the game or if my computers finally losing it..

Wow, out of curiosity I was just looking up information about Ottawa based game developers since I live there and never really hear too much about any development companies located here. I then found a company called Playbrains which I had never heard of before, so I went on their twitter page and saw that they made the game featured in this quick look. I then googled the address of their studio and found that it's only minutes away from my house. My mind is full of ironic fuck. Glad to see them getting recognized though.

This doesn't look sideways OR new york :-( I want my money back!

Framerate seems better on the PS3 from what I recall with the demo, but the variety didn't really keep me captured long enough for a purchase.

How long is it going to take for any member of Giant Bomb Quicklook crew to enable vsync? Brad and Jeff complain about it being framey, and they have a beast rig. Last I checked a 260 is not a great video card. Seriously GB, vsync is the answer. Turn it on. Please.

Interesting. Could potentially be up co-op, but this isn't the kind of thing I would find myself spending much time with (especially on my own and in a world where Skyrim exists).

...What in the hell are you talking about? Vsync limits the framerate to 60, and attempts to lock it there. If a video game is "framey" it's because it's going under the average FPS, if it goes under the average FPS with vsync on, the problem is exponentially compounded as it'll also add input lag into the mix. Vsync should only EVER be enabled if you're having screen tearing issues, or if your framerate is bouncing FROM 60 to like 500 or something and back down, which isn't great for your video card. That'd be noticeable as well, but they weren't getting "drops to 60+ frames," they were getting straight up hitching, which vsync does NOT fix.

Other than than those particular scenarios, vsync is just a performance inhibitor.

Again, screen tearing or excessively high framerate that jumps between 60+ and 60. Those are when you should enable it. IT DOESN'T LEVEL OUT LOW FRAMERATE. Or rather, it can try, but it'll fail miserably and usually result in horrible input lag.

This game is pretty good and the frame-rate is better on PSN. However, there is a glitch in the PSN version that seems to affect a large number of people (myself included) where the game never saves and if you exit the game you lose all progress. Anyone know if they have released a patch?

Perhaps it is different when you're actually playing it, but i didnt find the perspective shifts that disorientating while watching - looks right up my street...i'm just trying to decide if there were control issues, or if Brad was having a pudgey finger day :S

And Yet It Moves also has weird perspective changes. I'm surprised neither Jeff nor Brad thought of it. I could understand that you might forget it was one of the only good WiiWare games, but c'mon, it's been on Steam for like a year or two at this point, and it's been in at least one Humble Indie Bundle.
