The throttle reminds me of Need for Speed on Wii when you tilt the Wii mote up it goes fast and down is slow. I think that has a nunchuck too.

I'm scared to watch...
 
I've played a good 4 hours of it myself and it is abysmal.

The movie was excellent. The game seems to be most not excellent.

People with unnatural cheekbones deserve death.

Looks like a fun game in concept and style that is generally hampered by the attempt to tack on the Wii style of controls.  I think Brad is on to something about making a flight sim with RPG mechanics though, that'd be awesome.
 
I think the base idea looks good enough though.  Just...seems to have control issues (like most every Wii game).

Always impressed how they manage to ignore everything the game is trying to tell them - although maybe it's part of the quick looks strange attraction...

Manoeuvre when it fills up auto positions you behind the enemy plane so you can shoot it down, it is done by simply pressing A. I really dislike this game but I'm of opinion that they should at least play through the entire tutorial before doing these quicklooks. At the end of the mission it says 0 TMC kills, that are the kills that you make thanks to that.
 
The flight assist can be turned and should be turned off, it can kill you and will quite often prevent you from going after a enemy.

Wow nice job wasting most of your time shooting your ally (clearly in BLUE!!!) rather than looking at your radar and shooting the enemy (clearly in RED!!!)

Nothing conveys the fun of soaring through the air as the name sky crawlers.  

Looks like a fun game some people just can't grasp the controls of for some reason. They could have used the classic controller too.

What part are you talking about exactly? Enemies appear in green on the screen and selected target appears as green on the minimap. "

Looks like an ok game. Nothing i would buy, but Im sure someone out there is mighty stoked about it.

What a nice thing to come home to.

Flight combat doesn't make for very entertaining quick looks it seems.

The brifing parts reminded me of the briefings parts on Valkyria Chronicles. With the pictures sliding in and the general/major talking in a window...

This Quick Look confirms at least some sort of rehearsal is necessary when doing these shows, or at least make sure everything OK's before starting the show.....

There is only one flight sim, and it is IL 2 Sturmovik.

For those wondering about Brad's question of this being set in real Europe instead of fictional Europe. He's kind of right, The Sky Crawlers actually takes place in alternate history Europe. I'm guessing this is based on the film, since it came out two years ago, but the basic premise is the world is at peace but to satiate the needs of a people used to nothing but warfare private corporations contract pilots to stage dog fights against each other regularly. It could also be based on the original novel series, which I assume shares a similar storyline.

Yeah, this Quick Look doesn't really represent the game that well. I got it last night and had a ton of fun. The default control scheme definitely takes some time to become comfortable, but it works pretty well.

Not quite, the game has a whole tutorial section that they skipped that explains it all.   Still a bad game though. "
