This game was brilliant at the start. The very start of the game, the tension of the scene where you're cleaning up the body and trying to get out without getting noticed. How it immediatly shifts to being the cops on the scene of the murder, investigating the murder you just commited on a different character.
The game started off amazing, and had some brilliant moments throughout, but the game just get's worse the longer you play it. When the climax of the game is literally 2 minutes in...

Super hyped for heavy rain because the guy really sounds like he learned from his mistakes on Indigo prophecy with interviews I've heard with him.

@TheHT: You're thinking of Dreamfall: The Longest Journey which was a sequel to The Longest Journey. Completely different series though.

Oh yeah... I think the mood meter for your character's mental state is important. If it gets too low, I think they off themselves and you die. Can't remember what the lowest it can get is though... "wrecked" I think.

Thanks for posting this guys...you always deliver the goods! Funny how you're playing the Xbox version when Sony has the next one exclusive. Was actually the clincher in my decision to buy a PS3... Heavy Rain and Alan Wake are my type of games... Can't wait!

Fahrenheit  (as those of us outside the US and Canada know it) certainly wasn't an excellent game, but it was a great game nonetheless, even if the ending portion didn't make any sense (was frankly bizarre and chaotic) and the gameplay was rather clunky. There was just something about the atmosphere and the way it played which made it stand out. The general plot also flowed really well.

P.S. Any version titled "Indigo Prophecy" has the "sexual content" removed. Any version titled "Fahrenheit" is the full, unedited game. However, having played it I can say it doesn't really add anything to the game.

I just played this game on Monday specifically because of this Quick Look and the Heavy Rain preview. I got about 5 minutes past where you control Carla and her partner, then I got stupidly frustrated because as Lucas, I hid the knife in the trash and I wanted Carla to find it so she gets the credit, but I made her partner do it because I was fucking around and I think her partner is an ASS so I quit. I will definitely load this back up and try to finish it between other games. I remember it seeming fascinating when 1UP FM did their Backlog of it(remember that anyone? fucking awesome), but I just recently found a PC copy in my mess of older games. To be honest, once you've played through the two scenes in the diner, you can say you've played Indigo Prophecy from what I've heard. It gets ABSURD and crazy at the end with that little girl, and the gameplay gets really frustrating, but it's an interesting game. Endurance Run it! But do not for the love of god play it on PC because the controls are so annoynig to get used to.

Also...the tutorial is hilarious and David Cage totally lends his voice and likeness to it.
Also, also...Farenheit is signifigantly better because of the sex scene.

I played the PC version up to the army base childhood part and I'd had more than enough by that point. Using a keyboard and mouse for this game makes it far more frustrating than playing with a controller, which I found out after messing around on the PS2 version for a bit. Quantic Dream is pretty good at coming up with cool concepts and getting me interested in their games, but after playing Omikron The Nomad Soul and then Indigo Prophecy, I'm not excited for Heavy Rain at all.

this was a pleasant surprise when i played it back in the day (not that it was that long ago).  the game does kinda "nuke the fridge" at the back quarter, but it does offer a unique experience to the player.  nice quick look as always.

Turns out you can't unlock the scenes in the Indigo Prophecy PC version since patch 1.1

So those looking to play the unedited game, don't buy from Steam since they auto-patch games. It's silly that D2D is selling it for double price. I just hate not getting the content I rightfully bought. I'm surprised as fuck that there are no fan patches to re-enable the scenes like The Witcher had before the devs did it themselves.

Also the controller support is weak. If I didn't already own an Xbox Type-S controller and adapter, I would have rather gotten the Xbox version instead of on PC.

@Apathylad said:

Not really. Some chances to do the sex are still there, but the game camera does stupid angles looking at stuff
around the room while it goes down. It totally feels like they cut something out, which isn't cool. They could have done much better concealing nudity than they did without breaking the scenes altogether.

In fact since I already paid the publisher for the game yesterday, I'm gonna go obtain the EU Fahrenheit from the internet by some means and play it the right way.

Yeah. The actual 3D content is in 16:9, but the HUD is in the black letterboxed border. I dunno why they didn't include a HUD mode to put that stuff inside the game area so we could zoom in without missing valuable content.

I think Quantic Dream would be pissed if GB did an endurance run for Heavy Rain, because it's really all about story and if someone can experience it online, even in this way, it would hurt sales.

Indigo prophecy is such a good game for the first quarter-half of the game, once it gets past that it becomes utter garbage especially with the rushed plot and reliance on QTE sections

The dude appearing in the reflection of the medicine cabinet actually made me jump and I have no idea why. That's like the oldest scare tactic in the book. And it wasn't even that freaky, but still made me jump. I am baffled.

To be clear, on a computer you're not going to want to use a wireless 360 controller because of the way the game refuses to see RX and RY axes (the right thumbstick in the MS drivers). To make it work you would have to use a joy2key type program that translated you joystick inputs to mouse and keyboard presses, and the keyboard input for the game blows. It's tank style like the old resident evil games.

However the wired 360 controllers should work fine since you can use the excellent XBCD drivers which allow you to remap the right analog stick to Z and RZ axes. So should any other dual stick gamepad with customizable drivers.

If you only have a wired 360 controller as a gamepad, you're best getting it for 360 via Games On Demand.

I'm not a microsoft fanboy but this is just another reason why xbox 360 sells more. I wish I could buy ps2 games on psn but sony is more interested in still selling ps2 consoles and games then releasing them on the network. the fact that you can buy old xbox games on xbl is a huge factor in a purchase between the two consoles. At leas to me.
