Quick Look: Torchlight (XBLA)

Now that it's on xbla I have to pick this up.

This torchlight's burning real bright.

It's kind of a bummer hearing that the game can hitch up on the Xbox considering that Runic designed it to run on nearly any PC.

you know. i think il just go and get the PC version. my crap lap top can handle.

Yeah, I'm not go to say "he's playing it wrong!" or anything, because it doesn't matter how he plays it. But for the purposes of showing off the game, it does make it looks really repetitive because he doesn't use the extra abilities. Once again, not complaining.  And yeah, normal is such a joke. "

Anyone else disappointed in the performance? 
The load times and talk of framerate problems is heartbreaking, not to mention not being able to use dpad in the menus!  
 Are Runic the kind of developer who would address these issues in later patches?

I'm 99.5% sure that Jeff picked up a purple unique about 4 minutes before the end and then never looked at it and I find that infuriating. 
 
Edit: Ok I managed to pause on the frame and I was right. At 18:51, purple Mysterious Shoulders. JEFF! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!

Pretty impressed with the interface overhaul they did for this version, may pick it up just to support them.

Was not a huge fan of Torchlight. It was cool at first, but by the end I was just tolerating it. The loot was great, but after a while it became meaningless. I think Torchlight really needs an online component in future installments if it wants to remain relevant.

Looks like a great port.  Too bad it some some framerate issues, though at least they're minor.

The caption for this video sounds like something gametrailers would write. Please don't continue doing this, it's a shitty writing style, theres a reason they are video focused.

I've been waiting to play this.  Finally, I'll get the chance.  Looks awesome.

I never finished this, I was pretty sure it will never end for some reason :P. I'm really surprised they released it on console, I think they did a good job with it, also Jeff you got a purple show it dude what are you doing? isn't there a potion to transform your pet to another pet? or was it to name change your pet?

Looks pretty good. But, I do have a serious question: This game seems a lot like WOW without the online component. Are there more differences between these two games that would not be apparent in the quick look?

For everyone wondering about co-op.
 
This version is for people who hate/fear PC gaming so much that they don't even want to give a game like Torchlight, that almost any PC will run, a chance.
 
Torchlight 2 is their Diablo 2 (so meta considering these guys came from Blizzard North) and you'll get your co-op stuff there.

It seems  the menu interface is the only janky thing about this port. Everything else seems fine, I hope people out there find enjoyment out of this. I still prefer the PC version.

I just want to play too human now, that was a guilty pleasure to be sure but one hell of a hack and slash game.

i played the ranger and went with explosive shot....like running around with a rocket launcher.
