People are acting like the original series is classical literature. You liked it as a kid and that makes it seem that way, but trust me, the movie is about as dumb today as the show was back then (okay, maybe a little more, but not THAT much), and kids now feel the same about the movie as you did about the show.

I was willing to look past the faults of that movie until the twins( Mudflap and something) started talking. Their characters were just so exaggerated and so offensive, I had half a mind to leave the theatre.

Devastator's gleaming wrecking balls were stupid, but not really that offensive.

I went into the movie expecting something like the first Transformers maybe better, and like many others I was dissapointed.  I was expecting lots of robot fighting which I got but none of the actual robot characters felt real to me.  I guess I felt like they weren't characters but were merely tools, in the first transformers each robot character seemed to be fleshed out a bit, and in the new one it was like heres some robots, boom go the robots and roll credits.  The only two robots that seemed to be fleshed out were the twins, who were for all purposes mildly racist and got annoying after awhile.  So I went in expecting robot action and got it but was expecting more transformers lore and actual story and went out kinda dissapointed because it was two plus hours and it felt like it held little to no substance.
