I see that Brad and Jeff also have found some love for the Photomode like Kirk Hamilton from Kotaku that showed the possibilities for goofy pictures :)

I'm happy to hear both Brad and Jeff, and also looking at this game makes me very sure I'm okay to not play Uncharted.

Really though, it's cool to see something get Brad a little more chattery than he's been recently. I respect his viewpoint a lot so more Brad is good Brad.

Real quick edit because apparently that's my new thing: Climbing looks janky as hell. Maybe it's because both this and the previous game look so damn incredible, but the amount Chloe is just whipping around and snapping to stuff kind of hurts compared to how wonderful the scenery is.

Ok, I don't regret ordering this. If Brad could enjoy it despite knowing UC 4 was too long, then I should, too.

Ugh. I just reinstalled Uncharted 4 to finish it on crushing since I didn't do it before, and potentially gain some enthusiasm for this, but man that game at the end gets cheap as shit. I even turned the auto-aim on which is very generous, to cheat a little and I still died multiple times, so I quit. If a game is going to be that hard to get through without dying multiple times on its hardest difficulty, that's bad.

The only way I'm going to get through is with luck. There's no real smart way to go about the area either, it's simply about getting the weapons and ammo and killing the enemies before they kill you. The only thing I noticed, and due to the auto-aim function is that there are barrels in two spots that'll kill a group of enemies. It's just... bad. I didn't have much issue with the trilogy.

It makes me less enthusiastic about The Lost Legacy. I'm supposedly on the hardest encounter in the game for crushing now that I look it up, and yeah that makes sense. It lacks fun so much so that I already feel like taking it off the system and moving on. It tarnishes the game and goes hand-in-hand with how unrealistic it is that Drake goes up against all those enemies.

Want to check this out and kinda wish this was just the premise of uncharted 4 and they let drakes story end with 3 like it was supposed to.

I don't know why but after 4 years on this site i never see thumbnails so I'm always confused when people talk about them. I just see a black box with a red play button. Bomb casts shows me them sometimes but quick looks are always black on tablet and phone.

Anyone play this think it has better animations than rise of the tomb Raider? I can't tell in the video but the apex of video game animations is tomb raider and I dig some really good animations which uncharted is definitely known for. I dropped off of 4 during another vehicle shooting at me scene so tired of shit like that in games.

Fun fact I had a really bad flu for Christmas in 2007 or 08 when this came out and just spent weeks in the hospital with MRSA. My brother came home with uncharted 2 and a handful of other games.i didn't play uncharted past the demo so didn't have super high hopes for it. Anyways I played through uncharted 2 in one sitting that day and still consider it the best non rpg story game I've ever played.

I suggest anyone who has not really played uncharted to play uncharted 2 it is one of the best games of all time. Super excited to play this after watching this quick look.

I am not cool with a future in video games where characters look and get all sweaty. It's extremely icky.

I never understood people that don't understand the shooting in these games. They're extremely fun. Flipping around, running while tossing a grenade behind you, the verticality... I just wonder if there's mechanics Brad had no idea he could do. Running from cover to cover while rolling and shotgunning a guy (not using fine aim mode), blindfiring a looming shotgun wielder from behind cover, satisfying head shots... these games are a blast to fight in, and whenever I hear them say "Yeah, I didn't really go to Uncharted for the shooting.." I wish I could retort "Well you're not too bright then". Oh well.

@ntm: Uncharted 4 on crushing might be the worst tuned difficulty setting I have ever played. Shit is not fun, at all.

Just finished Uncharted 4 and loved it - not going to rush and buy this but will definitely pick it up at some point.

I only played Uncharted 1, can I play this and still understand the story?

@csl316: I don't know my dood, I love Brad and his reviews always have this enthusiasm to them that get me to buy the games he has enjoyed.. but he has steered me wrong before..

The only uncharted game I liked was 3. It had 50% less shooting than 1 and 2 and 50% more puzzles. It also had best characters and story.

I always wonder how actual Hindu duders feel about stuff like this.

Even though it's the third take of this video, the energy is still great. I probably wouldn't maintain the enthusiasm after two lost takes.

Really interested in this one. Cloe (and Claudia Black) is a cool character and a shorter, more focused adventure is very appealing.

I would love to see some documented proof of that. To me Uncharted 3 is arguably the worst in the entire series.

@bloody_skirmish: It's because in comparison to other 3rd person games - uncharted (and TLoU) have never had as good shooting mechanics as its peers - that's not to say they're not amazing games that do amazing things, but, especially on hardest difficulties, it feels like the mechanics are working against you which, combined with the low health etc, doesn't make for a fun time.

The shooting in these games is fine, good even.

Also as a poor person I very much appreciate the games being a decent length (for a linear action game).

Haven't played too much of this one yet but I'll say it...Uncharted 2 still the best Uncharted. What an incredible game that is/was. I think 3 is also better than people give it credit for. Jeffs dislike of the shooting while liking Gears of War is baffling because after playing gears 4 it made me realize the awful bullet sponge enemies in that series make combat a slog and really not satisfying. To each their own though.

@nonesun: I love the shooting in these games, especially 4 and Lost Legacy. I don't know what it is because to a lot of people it clearly feels sluggish but I thought that 4 felt great to play. I love the impact of the weapons and I think the combat animations are incredible.

Having recently played through, and enjoyed, Uncharted 4 I'll take my time picking this up to avoid any potential for fatigue.

You say that as if it is a fact when it's clearly not. Personally I would take the Uncharted combat over something like Gears any day of the week.

As a Hinduder, I'm okay with what they have done. Haven't played it yet, so I'm not sure how far they go into the history, but it terms of how they are portraying enemies, I'm fine with it. The setting definitely makes me more interested in picking this up at some point after I finish 4.

Man, this just looks like more of the same tedious (gorgeous) Uncharted schtick. It was hilarious listening to them trying to make out that it was a good thing that the AI plays the game for you.

"I can't be bothered with the dull puzzles but don't worry, the AI assistant will just complete them for you, so thats cool! Yay for gaming without the burden of gaming."

Almost as hilarious as the obnoxious people who think some of us don't "understand" the combat in these games. The combat's poor and clunky and certainly not complex. Nothing to "understand" about it.

I have a trophy to get now. I'm still in that area after I started playing it yesterday.

I'm digging it as a fan of the series, and I will appreciate the brevity of this one after playing through all of Uncharted 4 last year. I like these characters and what the game is having them do so far. Shocker, the motion capture animation is stunning.

Curious to know what difficulty Brad was playing on in this Quick Look.

They sound like the same VA doing the same voice.
