@bill_p: I'll be surprised when/if they rank those. I was a bit surprised to see SFxT. I like them focusing on some of the less popular games. SF2,SF4,and MK9 would all likely sail to the top and that's not as much fun.

Jason's inability to play fighting games while being recorded is well documented.

I remember loving Marvel Super Heroes in the Arcade back in the day, looks like it holds up pretty well! Glad to see some science applied to it!

Kinda wish fighting games in general didn't have combos.

Street Fighter x Tekken does work on Windows 10 it just takes jumping through a few hoops to get it working (like uninstalling and reinstalling Games For Windows Live a few times) , oh and the PC version doesn't have Pac Man or Mega Man. Save yourself the hassle, SFxT isn't worth your time or money.

I wasn't sure about this gem business at first but this video has clarified some things for me. Gem is excitement, gem is adventure, glamor and glitter, fashion and fame. You two are the best duo for this. As a fairweather fan of fighting games this video series speaks to me. I'm still surprised that Jeff is so much better at fighting games than Jason. Like Jason clearly knows about the theory a little more but Jeff is better at the psychology needed for playing against friends. I liked the white board bit but I have to imagine Jeff did not want to kneel and write stuff. Perhaps a digital display solution is in order. The way Capcom turned Marvel characters into fighting game characters has always been dope. A shame they don't really make great games anymore. Style-wise Street Fighter X Tekken seems too beautiful to exist but the science has spoken. Thanks for this video and this website. I'm looking forward to seeing some more obscure PS1 fighting games which are my total jam.

Street Fighter X Tekken is $4 on PSN this weekend! $4 for the fifth-best fighting game of all-time, now that's a bargain!

This is easily the most boring RoF yet. Not saying its bad, just a little less interesting for a RoF. Sorry GB. I suppose its inevitable though - with no Warren, everything else is doomed to seem at least a little boring by comparison :P

I wish Jeff & Jason, if the SCIENCE allows it, could look at 3 fighting games at a time. That would leave room for proven games from fighting powerhouses like SNK, Namco, Sega or Capcom, and then also more obscure (more weird, and more interesting) stuff like Ranma 1/2 or Deadly Moves or Toshinden. I want to see what the SCIENCE makes of titles like Power Instinct: Matrimelee or Tobal no.1 as much as I want to see what it thinks of the Street Fighters and Tekkens out there. The SCIENCE really needs to be able to handle more games at one time :)

The percentage of fighting games now scienced is well into the digits.

Going by what the GB crew have said on several podcasts in the past / UPFs, they abandoned Tumblr long ago after it was overrun by fetid, gibbering morloks from the internet-underworld.

Also, going to add my obligatory "Beastorizer / Blood Roar series" cry, here. Bloody Roar 3 would be superlative (2 had some unrealized potential and 4 had some super-arcane mechanics and an incomprehensible menu) , but any will do in a pinch. Thank you, drive through. :)

They are playing on the PS3 version which was well known to have annoying levels of input lag, especially compared to the 360 and PC versions.

I'm weirded out that SF X Tekken is 5 years old already, hot damn.

Street Fighter X Tekken has a cracking theme. It was such a bummer to watch pro play at EVO though, because every match ended up as Time Overs. The guy who got the trophy was fiddling with his phone while he got it and everyone was completely stone faced.

Fat Megaman is amazing haha.

Hopefully the next one can be soon. This has been a fun discovery. If I may make suggestions, for the sake of the Science:

- Bloody Roar: Primal Fury for the GCN, as the Nintendo Gamecube controller has been Scientifically dissected and proven to be the ultimate control method for fighting games

- A Guilty Gear or BlazBlue, as the Science can only be made stronger by more Glorious Anime Bullshit

If they're going anime they need to go deeper. Melty Blood to start.
