Idk why people are freaking out about the butter thing. I always go to Trader Joe's for Chicken Butter.

I really like Dan, he's smarter than people give him credit for, a good critic when he wants to be, he's funny and he seems like a really sound guy. But fuck me, it's been years and still every other word out of his mouth is wrestling related

Someone recently described Dan to me as "a walking embodiment of privilege, " and its dead on. This fool has stumbled headlong into more good things that most smart hard working people who bust ass all day will ever see in their life.

I'm way past giving him passes for this sort of ignorance. Everyone doesn't know things and its OK. But no one is aggressively unaware of the world around them as Dan.

Abby's mental breakdown in conjunction with the tricaster dying was a hilarious moment.

But let's ease off on Dan here. I'm sure there are plenty of common knowledge factoids any one of us doesn't know about. Like, chat didn't give a shit that Vinny referred to eggs as dairy.

He knew damn well he was in for another Dan moment before he asked the question, but he did anyway, so good on him.

FWIW, I never really knew that the same basic process that gives you whipped cream could eventually yield butter, though it makes sense when you think of it.

Dan on twitter tried to justify it by saying that lots of people don't know the specifics of how butter is made, but what he SAID was he doesn't know where it COMES from. I don't know how it's made but I damn well know it comes from milk!!!

American that was born in 1984 here! Eggs aren't dairy. It's not "a whole thing." Dairy involves milk. Alex and Vinny what the hell.

It seems like most of the comments on GB these days are essentially people arguing about the imagined caricatures of the site's staff that they've developed unhealthy parasocial attachments to. Not that the people who develop those attachments can be entirely blamed, given that the design of the site (and of the modern internet in general) is geared toward feeding them a constant stream of one-way interaction with people they'll likely never meet (and re-enforcing an outsized appetite for said parasocial interactions). Strange days here in our shared series of tubes.

why are they freaking out about a person not knowing about butter? just tell the guy how its made and get on with your damed life instead of making into a bigger deal than it is. Are the beast crew running so low on things to talk about that they need to overreact to every question dan asks at this point.

Carly Rae Jepsen has well written and extremely catchy songs. Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift have middling pop music that pleases the masses enough that's it popular, or people remember when their music was "good"

Hey random question to those that played this in 2005: is this how the game looked? Is this an improved graphics PC port? Cause this game at times looks ready good. Especially considering the consoles it came out on.

@luciddreams117: I'd argue it looked BETTER, relatively speaking, in 2005. The re-releases essentially upgraded the resolution of textures and models, but actually made the lighting worse. It was a lot more atmospheric and gloomy before. Obviously being designed for, and played on, older non-HD TVs helped mask some of the issues that modern ports don't, but I do think something was lost in the translation.

Re: Carly Rae Jespn's male audience. It's in large part due to her gaining a fan base via reddit/Fantano/4chan due to the combination of having critically acclaimed producers (Blood Orange) and lyrics that are almost always about not finding love and not having a partner.

During the Great Dairy Debate, while Abby's leaning away from the mic and screaming "Dan, Daannn!" my audio and video feed cut out. I assume it's a glitch, but that was some A+ comedic timing nonetheless.

I also mentally group eggs in with dairy, and then do a bit of a double-take when I think about it further. I guess it's good to know I'm not the only one, though I still don't know why it happens in the first place...

FWIW, I'm not a fan of Ariana Grande or CRJ in general, but CRJ's music has some genuinely very good production that makes it stand out in comparison to most other pop music.

Also, RE: eggs as dairy. It's dumb, but I think it's like Vinny said: back when food pyramids were a thing that were taught in schools, eggs and dairy were always grouped into the one segment. So I always associated them together in my head until I was an adult.

Super late but they definitely had some Resident Evil-themed foods at the Capcom Cafe in Shinjuku. They were all incredibly overpriced and shitty lol. The bleeding brain cake being the worst!
