KOTOR 2 (well with the restored content mod) is. my fav but this game is pretty fun too.

I never went for the lightsabers, they're cool give me blasters and force lighting.

PLEASE continue this! One of my top 5 games of all time.

If Alex wants to go two weapon fighting there's a feat for that he should definitely take or he gets massive penalties to hit. It's at the very top of the feats list when he gets another.

Thank you so much! I remember struggling so hard in the early game, all the way up to the sewers and the first real boss fight.

As a PC player I am a fan of seeing Rogue and now Kotor show up here with some classic M+KB action!

As others have pointed out, the audio mix is leaning more towards the gameplay.

Vinny taking Alex on a Tour of Mass Effect and now KOTOR, what more can I ask for?

Loved this back in the day even if it is really bad about Encouraging you to spec out in ways that will just make your later jedi prestige class so much worse. Not a huge deal since the game is really easy but "feels" bad.

This ALSO reminds me that I should go check out SWTOR again. If memory serves, the Jedi Knight character story was straight up KOTOR 3 and many of the main characters and arcs from KOTOR 1 and 2 returned for the later expansions.

I remember really liking the writing in this game. ...That said, I was like 14 when it was released, so take that for what you will.

Just having watched the first ~15 minutes of this so far, but there's already quite a lot of clunky expositional dialogue. "Ah yes, as you know, Bastilla is the commander of this ship! As you'll recall, we signed up to protect her!"

EDIT: I just got to the scene where a completely different voice actor jumps in halfway through one of Carth's scenes. Golden!

I'm very excited for this, I hope they stick with it but I'm sure Alex is burnt out on some rpg action by now!

KOTOR's great. At the time, as someone that only saw the original trilogy and played Rebel Assault, it really turned me into a fan of the universe. It's a bit dated in a lot of ways, but it's still a cool adventure that I hope they stick with.

And it's one of a handful of games where I naturally chose the evil path on my first playthrough. Ungrateful wookies followed by a dark Jedi academy... it just sort of happened.

Looking forward to watching this as I booted up KOTOR on the series x last night. It looks and feels great. I did have some kooky graphical glitches.

eta- Taris is the worst start for such a good game though.

Thanks to the duders who responded to my questions re the writing. Wasn't trying to dunk on the game or anything but I've just heard so much hagiography about this game and its sequel. The initial dialogue wasn't grabbing me so I was curious if it moved beyond that initial clunky exposition. Seems it does so I'll look forward to that.

Getting through the Temple of Trials. Getting out of Irenicus' laboratory. Getting off of Taris.

The inconsequential, unskippable, hours-long tutorial areas that make replaying these games an absolute CHORE!

That said, I can't wait to see this fresh playthrough!

Yes! They're playing KOTOR! One of my all-time favorite games. I hope they play all the way through this one.

An unpopular opinion: I wasn't impressed by KOTOR and thought it was just "alright". Maybe it's because I got it after it hit PC and had been out for a while...but I didn't and still don't get the hype. Entertaining, sure, but otherwise it was a little too easy and the story too predictable. Doesn't mean I won't enjoy watching Alex play though.

Sign me up for an entire playthrough of this! One of the greats.

@blipp18: No one's necessarily "stopping" a remake from happening. It's 100% possible that there's simply no dev team that's interested in making a remake/remaster/reimagining of the game, for a variety of legitimate reasons. ;)

In any case, I only ever watched my college roomate play this, and at the time, all I could think was "Oh hey, I recognize this heavily modified Neverwinter Nights framework!"

IIRC, KotOR was based on the D20 StarWars RPG ruleset, so that made sense, but I could never shake the feeling that it was just a very professional, well-done mod. Looking forward to revisiting it with GB, though!

Holy shit this dialog... I thought Bioware was supposed to be top tier. Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but I don't remember LucasArts' Star Wars games from the 90s being this ham handed.

I wasn't expecting this and am quite excited for it. This game rules so much.

The wildest thing about Taris to me is you spend all these hours doing quests, learning people's backstories, and, then, they blow up the whole fucking planet.

I think we all want to see this reaction, honestly. HK-47 is the best.

Got me resubbed with this one! Would be nice to have the game audio (or at least the music?) lowered, your voices are blending in too much. Does anyone else agree?
