Also if Vinny hasn't played Jade Empire maybe they should play that instead. Though I was definitely wrong and would not mind a full playthrough of this cause Alex's reactions to some of the nonsense in this game have been fantastic.

Please do a full series! Honestly, this is the first potential premium feature that has interested me in quite some time, and would definitely continue the sub just to watch. I've wanted to replay KOTOR but I really don't want to deal with how terrible it is on PC.

I love the old games where in a conversation characters gesture with their weapons still in hand. It's so awkward.

If you guys continue playing this game @alex should keep in mind he can pause combat at any time to issue commands. I also don't think he has his shield generator active.

Alex seems to be playing Light Side so sadly we probably wont see it. But seeing Z and Mission made me instantly flashback to a certain endgame choice involving them and how crazy it was that the game actually follows through with the choice.

Those are two great points, also using blaster in this game sucks. Vibroblades and lightsabers are where its at.

Man I love these two games.

Alex should be using a sword. He's missing because he put all his points in strength and hit chance with a blaster depends on dexterity. He's also taking a penalty for dual wielding while not having the requisite skill. Alex said he's not here to read but he still didn't use a generated character? There's options in the game for people who don't like to build characters, like auto-leveling. Assuming they play again. Hope they do. @alex, @vinny, remember to activate your energy shield in combat. And with the points you put into strength, a melee weapon would probably work best.

@permanentsigh: Honestly some jank is charming. If these games were updated or came out today i don't think id have much fondness for them as a sanatized AAA openworld event like witcher 3 or something. With dark gray writing witty characters and a modernized script etc. I know it hits different for people watching but their is something to the game when you play yourself as a 10 year old kid and knock it out in a few weekends with unlimited time. The games arent as bad as they seem just less action based than you'd expect in 2020.

BTW unsolicited advice: melee feats are also applicable for a certain ancient weapon later in the game also Wisdom is VERY powerful stat from the mid to late game - there’s a limit to the number of fights you can persuade your way out of.

@ben_h: It drove me crazy when, for Jade Empire, they hired language scholars to invent a language so they wouldn't have the Moochoo Shakka Pakka problem... but then they just DID IT AGAIN.

I think this would lend itself well to a full playthrough. I don't know how much experience Alex has with old rpg's like this. For me Mass Effect series was the first rpg of its kind that I played, when I first played KOTOR in 2013 after having played the Mass Effects games it was cool to see how KOTOR laid all the groundwork for Mass Effect there were a lot of satisfying ooh and ah-ha that's where that came from moments ranging from character interactions to plot points and game systems. I'm positive Alex would get a kick out of that too.

I also didn't play Jade Empire yet and would love to see a Vinny playdate!

Bioware made Neverwinter Nights, Obsidian made Neverwinter Nights 2.

@vinny Since you asked what Bioware games feature disease and quarantine plot lines, i compiled a short list of everything I could remember/find.

- Baldur's Gate — There's a sidequest called "The Uncommon Cold" in the Coalition Camp where a strange disease has befallen the camp, needing a separate quarantine area for the befallen soldiers.

- Neverwinter Nights — The game opens with a disease named "Wailing Death" sweeping through Neverwinter, requiring the city to be quarantined and the player character needs to find the "Waterdhavian creatures" to create the cure.

- KOTOR — As seen in these episodes, the sith empire quarantined Taris to prevent any escape from the planet. (There's more here but that would be spoiling if the series continues.)

- Jade Empire — There is an early quest where there is a disease that has befallen the Great Southern Forest, and the player is tasked with resolving it to reach the next area.

- Mass Effect 1 — the rift station on Noveria is beset by a failed bio-weapon infecting the staff and triggering a quarantine, that Shepard has to find the cure for.

- Dragon Age: Origins — The Darkspawn (the game's main anatagonists) spread a disease like corruption called the "Taint" to people. Additionally the times when darkspawn rise up are referred to as "blights", which need to be contained by the grey wardens (such as the player character.)

- Dragon Age: Origins — One of the last quests involves an apparent blight-like disease affecting the elves living in "The Alienage" (slums) leading to them being quarantined in a hospice. However it is revealed as a rouse to traffick elves into slavery.

- Mass Effect 2 — The Collectors/Vorcha unleash a virus on the Omega station, and Shepard needs to help Mordin in creating a cure.

TL;DR There's a lot of disease plot lines in Bioware games.
