Steal My Sunshine: Episode 06

Due to the pass and play style and lack of interest from most of them, they are still having trouble with the controls. This is an old game and the controls are rougher than modern games, but I've been playing alongside them and I have no trouble maneuvering around the world. They seem to still hit Y instead of X or vice versa (when they zoom in instead of change nozzles), still don't understand the camera (you can move the c stick along with the movement). Other than a couple frustrating angles, the game isn't that hard to control as much as it demands you to know how to control to get to where you're going.

All that said, Sunshine is still an 8.5-9 (3-4 stars) for me. Some of the shines are just not as fun, but I'm glad they understood what the best part of this game was (secret levels) and made two fantastic games out of them (Galaxy 1 and 2). Regardless, I will continue watching the crew being frustrated on their way to 100% shines.

This continues to not be a good game. Alex's and Vinny's shine were especially not good.

I can totally understand people not liking a game because they think it controls poorly. After watching them play for 10 or so hours now, it is clear that they are having a hard time understanding the systems and/or button layout. I know they are playing for show, and viewers definitely underestimate how hard it is to play well and entertain at the same time.

But what does one say to their difficulties? I guarantee that I would have less troubles than them, but I am probably more familiar with the Gamecube controller over Vinny and Alex and I am not trying to be funny while playing. I just hope people take this stuff into account when they shout "THIS GAME IS BAD". Unless of course they have experienced the same troubles when they played this game (we are all different after all). Put me in the camp of I did not have issues.

Dan in the East is a great addition. Him, Vinny, and Alex, work so well. Alex can do better plays tho..

This video isn't showing on the Premium RTS Feed. It jumps straight from Bombcast 494 to Blue Bombin Mega Man 5 Part 03.

I don't see why people are complaining, this has been one of their most successful episodes yet. They were able to get a lot of shines, one red shine which screwed Dan over, the closest thing we have to a heel on GB, and they were able to make it through a none FLUDD level without spending the whole episode stuck there.

Does anyone else think the red gumball is kind of a bad idea? I think it's clever they have some "special" balls, but if the red balls make you swap, then it encourages them to never have more gumballs than the 2nd place person.

When you play upwards to 15 games a week sometimes, playing an old game with a crappy camera once a week for two hours, while swapping controllers so only about 30 minutes a week while also trying to provide commentary to thousands of people and looking at an online live audience, tell me how well you adjust to that control scheme.

The controls are a bit odd but not that odd, its mostly an inverted camera stick they are fighting and they are fighting it by not using at all and then blaming the game for some odd camera angles.

It will be interesting to see when they get to the actually hard levels. If they dont learn the controls this will be an 1000hour series.

Anyways Jak and daxter is a platformer from 2001 with perfect camera so stop saying "This is from 2002 all 3D games was like this".

I never said all old 3D games had bad camera's, just this one does

Except they don't play video games professionally, they make videos / podcasts / articles about video games professionally. This is not their Super Mario Sunshine fansite, and their job does not consist solely of getting good at this old ass Gamecube game. Honestly, their job is better served if they are worse at the game. If the whole series was just them breezing through the game it wouldn't be half as entertaining. They play, at most, 30 minutes of this game a week each, while trying to be entertaining, and then playing tons of other games the rest of the week.

My hate for this game clashes with my love for watching these guys, and I last as long as I can. An hour and 18 minutes is all I could do. I just can't take how obnoxious everything about this game is.

Sounds like Abby was thinking about Theme Park World.

Vinny taking Dan's "cheat sheet" and throwing it away, then turning it into a hat, was great.
