Nevertheless, some decent plays were shown. I understand it's hard to follow all the action with just the player cam but we'll just have to deal with it for the time being.

I wonder, have you already decided which role suits your play style the best?

Daily Dota is still going on right now on reidski's twitch. I feel weird that I'm watching it practically by myself.

after watching all of the daily dotas so far there is something that has been puzzling me

every time @brad buys power treads he never switches them to agi or int its always strength even if the other stats would suit the char better. and when they are in the enemy base and he is buying stuff why is he sending it with the courier all the way from home base instead of getting it from the enemy shop

(to people who dont know its where you stand just outside the enemy spawn point in the trees for radiant its the southern part and northern for dire)

hopefully someone can explain since there might be a reason for not doing that

@brad I can't believe how much money you are spending in dota. Just so you know you really don't need to feel obligated to open your chests. I have over 100 chests just sitting in my inventory that I don't really even care about.

Life is like a box of Dotas. You never know which kind of a match you will get.

My thought's precisely. I think I missed the boat on DOTA. Looks way too overwhelming, like some of the custom UI I've seen on WoW, or just plain ol' SC2. Shit scares me.

@m16mojo2: It doesn't look overwhelming to me, but I really don't have an interest in that type of game. I think my issue is that it just seems boring and repetitive.

@dooley: I know people who have spent way more. I think since League was in beta I've spent over $300 on it...which is fairly frightening now that i think about it.

Feel like I'm learning a lot from just watching people play Dota 2. Right now I'm still playing against bots because I don't want to jump in and let a team down from inexperience.

@alekss: The stream is not premium, only the archived version on the site. You can watch twitch.tv's archived version on their twitch.tv profile. It's the same with TNT.

@stimpack: Once again, I completely agree. I just didn't want to offend anyone who likes to play/watch this. I guess I have a right to my opinion though. I'm guessing you don't like any type of sports either? I sure as hell don't.

@brad You should run a separate computer for broadcasting like you suggested, but still run the Twitch stream from your computer. That way people can watch from the spectator client with the commentary if they want, and also do replays. But the people in the chat can still watch the up-to-the-minute version.

I just watched a replay of yesterdays in the spectator client while running the Twitch version simultaneously, which was a pain but a lot of fun once I got it synced up.

@m16mojo2: In terms of real sports, I stopped watching football a few years ago when they got rid of Jeff Garcia and went with some new kid who sucked. After that I haven't gotten back into it. Hockey is still cool, but I don't keep up with it or anything.

In terms of games, Madden '04 was the last one that I played that I enjoyed. I don't think there have been any other sports games I've cared for aside from NFL Blitz, Looney Tunes B-Ball, Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey, and probably a couple more. needless to say it's been a lot of years since I played a sports game I cared for.

*edit* I remember one, it was that old baseball game where if you hit the pitcher he would run after you with a baseball bat. That was alright.

I think I've been spoiled by the idea and prevalence of persistent gaming for the most part. The idea of doing the same simplistic thing over and over with nothing to keep me going aside from some "hats" is just entirely unappealing to me. But it's popular, and I do understand why people would like it. I wouldn't want the gaming industry to revolve around just what I want.

The Daily Dota is quickly becoming my favourite feature. I have yet to play a single game of Dota..

Spending money like that for just a chance to get a game item is so ridiculous to me.

I very much disagree with that statement. It's a common ploy for people losing to say stuff like "Finish fast" and then defend to the bitter end, "Noob teammates" or to do what that clockwork did and explain how you did something wrong even though we were clearly doing very well. People feel the need to explain how being on the losing team is nothing to do with them and clearly it's the fault of their teammates.

Not to mention in this specific scenario Kessler did buy sentry wards, it just took longer since we were giving the farm to Brad.

That's something Brad has enabled. The ring shows the range you have to be in to get exp from creep kills.

That seems super usefull.

And man that bastion announcer makes me want to play this game.

@ptys: We might be fine with weekly Dotas but it might be that Brad needs them to be a daily ocurrance.

Will be interesting to see how long Brads Dota 2 addiction continues.

I am also not really watching the Daily Dotas. But I enjoy an occasional peek at the stuff going on in matches.

Played my first public match after the training mission last night, did quite well considering I was using that Dragon Knight. It's intimidating to begin with but I'm looking forward to getting a friend of mine to team up with me tonight. I'm starting to understand why people seem to play it for hours on end.
