Dan “35%” Rykert. The best ending to a great series. I was cheering the whole time. Amazing stuff.

I just want to say that I loved this series. I’m glad that lasted as long as it did because I had a “show” to look forward to each week for an extended period of time. Also - I had never played an xcom game before so I never found myself getting too bothered by them making mistakes or playing “wrong” like some people in the comments seemed to after each episode.

Like many have said - the ending was perfect. You couldn’t have scripted it any better.

Now... All that being said, I for one thing think many of us need to check ourselves for how much we doubted this crew would get anywhere near the end let alone beat it. Those early episodes, it seemed the comments were nothing but "do this or research that or with no x building you guys are gonna fail. The aliens will win"

Clearly the beast crew just proved all the naysayers wrong. Congratulations to them. Great series. Holy crap, I can't believe it lasted for a year.

@toxicantidote: yupp. Series became very good. All three of them learned to play with a little more strategy and forethought. Vinny was still controlling but it was necessary because each commander played for less than hour mostly every few weeks.

As much as I enjoyed the series, I look forward to not yelling at at my screen "Overwatch!!" Hahaha.

Seeing that 35% shot was incredible. TRUST YOUR GUT

When I play XCom my luck is pretty similar to Abby's - lots of 60% or higher shots missing, and resulting in some pretty tough moments. Seeing Dan basically coast through this series (with a few exceptions here and there) is both hilarious and anger inducing.

Fun series all around! I wish they would do XCom 2, but I doubt it will happen any time soon.

I love Alex, but he was on Dan's ass this whole episode. I honestly thought that some of his loose cannon moves (that got shot down) were not horribly reckless. Awesome ending. Fixer be praised!

This show has been fan-fucking-tastic, thank you so much beast crew and especially @vinny for putting this together. It has made my two hour commutes much more bearable.

I would love to see the Corps tackle XCOM2 but I agree the difficulty ramp is no joke.

Watching this inspired me to play the XCOM:EW long war mod and that was a tonne of fun as well, three months to beat and I found it hard as all heck on normal.

I wish they didn't question Abby's moves with her characters on every single turn. They weren't doing that with Dan or Alex's people. Let the woman call her own shots for God's sake. Regardless, congrats on a fantastic series Beastcrew! Now I can move on to Mass Alex :D

Perfect ending! I thought Alex was the best player throughout this series but he should have just let Dan do what he wanted with his own characters. I think he was more salty at himself for doubting Dan and being wrong rather than at the game itself.

At this point, the way they're running the game is basically D&D. I hope Dan tells someone that.

Awesome series, but Zhang didn't die! Or at least didn't die from the explosion. There are a few frames where he has disappeared just before the blast so... maybe teleported away? Successful campaign though to be sure!

Was it luck or is this the way to win the final mission? In other words, could 1 of the 3 clones be the real guy or should you always focus on the one in the middle?

I know I'm hella late to the comments party but I have to say it: Dan, your gameplay style has straight pissed me off over countless features, but THAT was one hell of a way to end this series. That took balls, masterfully done. Thanks to the entire crew for making me laugh, rewind to watch, and then laugh again at how this wrapped up. It's as a delight, and I couldn't be happier to have been proven wrong at an outcome. 11/10.

I'm currently watching them spend an enormous amount of time agonizing over trying to trigger an overwatch, which might even be a reaction shot that pops when an enemy gets close enough.

This must have been bad live, it has stopped the game dead in it's tracks. Up to now though, it has been great.

I stopped watching this through the year and have just watched all of them over the past week. Great series, it's up there in my favourites list now and that ending... Holy shit!

I may have hopped off early but I knew from the get go, from the get go, that Dave Lang was, and was going to be, MVP.

It was really fun watching the whole crew work together and still have that bit of connection to the characters they were controlling. The thought of Abomination just seeing red and and not being able to hold back at firing immediately at the big-bad before anyone can make a move, is just PERFECT. It's like Dan roleplaying him as himself. But really, there was some fun coordination by everyone.

Great job, crew. You made a very fun, dramatic ending to a series, all the way through the episode; not just the final moves.

To be fair, Alex did see a 97% chance miss in a previous episode.

THE BEST ENDING

Alex passed up a 60% shot on the boss at the end there.

He could have had all the glory to himself! instead he decides to waste it on a fodder enemy

Loved this ending!

Also love Alex, but I wish he didn't keep ragging on the design. Those other enemies were not copies and had a different look to them. Killing the leader has been a trope in stories and games forever. It's exactly how that end fight should go.

People railed on Dan for making bad choices, but I've been watching this series from his perspective alone until now and the decision making around the encounter with the two sectopods (?) was all-around not good :')

They managed to get for one time only chance for dirt bike to perfect positition at 1:21 to use the electro thing to get 3 at the same time.... and they don't use it.

vinny just goes, can also use the zappy.. and they just shoot one guy.
