Jeffs Australian accent wasn't too bad, everybody always tries too hard to recreate the Steve Irwin voice, which is the equivalent of the typical USA accent being the redneck yokel

Can't get episode zero to download on iPhone 6. The episode is stuck at preparing to download. Is something messed up with the RSS feed?

The download is missing its .mp3 extension. If you downloaded it from the site you can just add it manually. iTunes ain't going to download it until its fixed though.

When you guys said not that long podcast i figured maybe an hour! Give it time.. we'll be at three hours and thirty minutes in no time!! =D

Calling it an "extended universe" is maybe not accurate, since the books were around long before the games.

The download is missing the file extension which you can add manually if you download it to your PC, but podcast apps/itunes won't be able to do that. So until they fix it you won't be able to download it probably. You could always try to stream it in the GB player on the site.

Also, I totally agree with Alex about Geralt. So glad someone else feels this way, I just don't like him all that much. That's why I had such a tough time getting into the story of Witcher 1 and 2. I liked Commander Shepard but Geralt just feels too stony and rough for me.

My problem with Geralt has always been the VO. I'm okay with the character, but all I hear when he talks is Christian Bale's Batman.

They'll fix it when they get into the office I'm sure, but as I said, the GB podcast player will work on your phone so you should be able to listen to it that way right now.

I, too, giggled when I saw this this is over 2 hours long, considering that this is/was supposed to be a shorter podcast. I suspect that they'll try to scale it back as time goes on.

Although, I could listen to the Giant Bomb staff talk all day, so don't trim it on account of me.

The length is fine. I would rather them not feel as if they need to artificially shorten the podcast.

@amyggen: If you've read the books, the voice doesn't really fit the character at all. He does brood, but he's not nearly as self-serious as Nolan's Batman. I'm thinking more like Angel from Buffy or something than the overly gruff voice of the game. Overall, some of the voice actors are the biggest problem in the games. Most side or minor characters are fine but Geralt, Dandelion and Triss' etc. voices can really take me out of it occasionally. They keep changing some of the voice actors between games but not always for the better either.

Overall the Wild Hunt is excellent and has great writing, but it can't touch the complexity of the characters from the books.

That should be the permanent image.

I was worried when they were talking about "making it shorter and thus better", that they would end up cutting it down to thirty minutes of podcast or something. Luckily, this is not the case! I love me some long-ass podcasts! Thanks, Alex en Vinny.

If anyone is wondering why their podcast app didn't pick this up, apparently they changed the RSS Feed from 'premiumbeastcast' to 'beastcast-premium'. I had to re-add the new feed.

All I can say is YEAH! Can't wait to listen each week. You guys have given me something to look forward to at the end of the week.

Hopefully, this is fixed now.
