Yes, fuck that guy, informing people about game performance. I hate those "resolution elitist", "game working properly elitist" and others. One Totalbiscuit video gives more actual information useful for game buying than all GB videos combined.

I want to play games in minimum 60 fps, because I prefer things which are better, if you don't that's fine, but "frame rate elitist" is just brilliant.

The GB crew shits on 60 fps as irrelevant then at the same time mentions it all the time when talking about games which run at lower fps.

You don't move THAT much faster while holding R2 in Everybody's Gone To The Rapture. It's still incredibly slow and annoying. If there was more interesting stuff in the world it wouldn't be that bad but there's so much empty space filled with nothing. Also, the story goes nowhere.

Listening to the discussion about it right now and had to write something cause that game disappointed me so much. Loving the episode, good to have Jeff Bakalar.

It's pretty laughable to be honest. Not that it's a new thing that the GB crew doesn't have much of a clue of what they're talking about in these kinds of matters.

I thought Samantha's take on the "walking through a field" discussion was pretty interesting. That said, thinking about how I act in real life I came to the conclusion that the implemented solution (In EGTTR) makes some sense. If I walk through a nice field once, I might take the time to appreciate my surroundings.

But if I then have to go back through that field for something, or need to walk through several fields, I will be almost on the point of breaking into a jog. I walk through a field each week to go to a class, and I get through that thing as quickly as possible because I've seen the field before and I'm more interested in what's on the other side. So I think there's certainly a validity to including a mechanic for faster movement, but I do appreciate the value in taking one's time to absorb a new area in games as in life.

Also I'm super happy Samantha actually directly name-dropped Um Jammer Lammy.

@prokofjev: Jeff DEFINITELY doesn't shit on 60fps. I remember them playing a PS1 racing game on UPF one time and him being so happy that it was 60fps.

I have all the respect for Samantha and I don't mean this as an insult but my main problem with Sentris has always been that 1. Despite all the videos I've seen of it, the Unfinished on GB etc etc I still have a very vague idea of how it plays - and 2. From everything I've seen it really doesn't look like much of a game.

It's definitely a cool experimental, music, thing, but I simply didn't see any of the hooks that would make me want to play a music based game like for instance Amplitude or even the oldschool king of music games Guitaroo Man.

When they play games they prefer 60 and mention it, but on podcasts in conversations on 60 fps in general they tend to dismiss it.
