Pascual was a cool guest, I wouldn't mind having him on the show more often for when you need someone in the rotating chair.

Also, I'm completely on the opposite side of Alex regarding the ear buds (the oddly shaped ones) that came with the iPhone. Those are probably the most comfortable earphones I ever had, they fit properly, don't fall easily and sound almost as good as the high-end AKG and Senneiser earphones I used to have.

But I find it interesting that he prefers the in-ear phones with the rubber nubs because everyone I know that think the Apple earbuds are uncomfortable and sound bad are all people who prefer he in-ear type. Personally, I can't stand in-ears and rubber nubs, they hurt and the sound is so close to my eardrums it feels I'll become deaf if I use them for more than one minute.

@dorianotten: I wasn't at PAX so I don't know for sure what people were playing there but my two best guesses are either Warmachine or Infinity. Both are kind of popular table top miniatures games. Warmachine is more steampunk than straight sci-fi though and Infinity is kind of anime and manga (think Appleseed) inspired.

@shtinky: I only realised that it was him during this podcast because I listened to the Best of Hotspot 2006 a few times and remember his call but once I heard his voice on here, I put 2 and 2 together. I know he has been on here (via voice) with Brad on the DOTA 2 videos but don't care for DOTA.

@tepidshark - I'm not sure about the 4k thing either. But personally I am interested in getting a new TV for HDR. Just to get more "vivid" image quality. Last time I checked the prices surprisingly didn't seem as crazy as I imagined (and @vinny seems to imagine). Sonys 55 inch models can be bought over here for about €1 000. Still it's that and the price for the pro console on top so I haven't been convinced to throw my money at this yet.

In the end I see this as different from 3D - a continuation on getting image quality better.

If you're interested in getting into, or just re-visiting, The Simpsons, I'd highly recommend the Talking Simpsons podcast from Laser Time. I loved watching Simpsons re-runs when I was a kid, and now getting into it, watching them chronologically, the show can be so, so good.

Matt is definitely wrong about getting a measly 8k from buying a WoW Token. They were introduced at the starting price of 20k, and it's only gone up since then. The US region is hovering around 35k for one at the moment. I assume he bought his in EU, and EU has always been way higher than the US price. Currently, it's at 68k. Actually, as I typed that, I'm starting to wonder if I misheard him and did not hear the "sixty" part.

Regardless, 8k is chump change in the current days of WoW.

Vinny and Alex saying that their tv's that they play games on at home were only at about 40 inches made me feel better about my 47 inch tv for some reason.. First world problems.

I disagree that the loss of Metzen leaves Blizzard without figureheads. The team leads are still there and are great! You have Ben Brode on Hearthstone who is enthusiastic and easy going, you have Dustin Browder on Heroes who is a super nice dude who regularly answers questions on Twitter honestly and directly, and then you have Jeff Kaplan from Overwatch who was growing a beard once. Can't go wrong with a beard.

Why do Vinny and other people still seem to think that the Vive can only do room scale???

I'd like to just state that YOU ARE 100% CORRECT about Apple's garbage-ass shitbox over-designed headphones. They suck, they are NOT ergonomically correct, and they prioritize sound over comfort. They are a design mistake. I'm right there with you buddy, every new iphone I get, those bastard ass headphones go directly in the garbage from whence they came.

so wait no one upset about putting the blue apron add basically in the podcast even though premium? ;).
