Man, the Eric Nylund Halo books are legitimately great. Read 'em before I ever played any of the games, actually, and it made me become really disappointed in the games' stories when I finally played 'em years later. Can't speak to any of the other books that came out in that series, though, just the Nylund ones. :) Yeah, they're dorky as hell, but good nevertheless. :)

They talk about why on the Bombcast. A couple of times. Long story short: Mooooneeeeyyy. 1080p capture equipment (that does what GB needs it to do) is apparently expensive. Also they'd rather increase the bitrate than the resolution.

really don't see much a difference in this game compared to defiance ? Its almost the same.

@matoyak: It does make otherwise exciting encounters look like a slog if you haven't played them - which again is totally fine, but it is leading to some false impressions that the game isn't dynamic.

Also, are people honestly rallying together in offence over a casual reference to Halo novels being for dorks? I'd have left Giant Bomb a long time ago if I was bothered by the guys making flippant remarks about things I like. It really doesn't matter.

I dunno, I think the whole space mysticism is a cool take on the post apocalypse.

Yep, the mission structure still sounds a lot like Phantasy Star Online to me.

For everyone who watches this video and becomes upset about the dork comment, I recommend checking out the first "30 Day Trial" video. Dan directly addresses and explains the whole thing.

The internet is weird. It is super uptight when it comes to certain things, but when issues like diversity pops up, everybody is all like "stop complaining so much." I say we abandon almost the entire internet and communicate through nothing but Bot Colony and Velvet Sundown.
